Saturn Rx for a natal Saturn Rx? Plus double Rx Yod!

With Saturn now turning retrograde, I wondered what the implications were for someone like me born with Saturn retrograde (24'15" Sag 5th house). I heard some people think this means the retrograde transit doesn't have as much impact on natal retrogrades, some say it's worse.

And just to make things complicated, I have two yods involving Saturn. I have moon and sun conjunct in Taurus, with Jupiter (23'12"Lib Rx) and Saturn (24'15" Sag Rx) both inconjunct to Moon and Sun. Now what the hell am I supposed to think about two yods, each one with Saturn and Jupiter retrograde, and they point at the Sun and Moon? I've taken this to an astrologer who saw the yods and just said, "oh you poor thing" and refused to analyze my chart further. If you know anyone who is particularly adept at interpreting crazy yods, let me know. I've had trouble finding anyone who can even try to interpret my weird chart.

Oh did I mention I have a T-Square also pointing at both Sun and Moon, another T square pointing at Uranus, and Grand Trine?

Here's a link to my chart and a highlight of the Yod, it's big so I won't inline it here.

    Freakin Far Out DUDE!!!!

Frankly, though, I dont see all of that. I see one yod which to me (a complete beginner) looks like success from both hard work and luck/optimism.  Nothing poor about that.

I dont see a t-square, and i dont see a grand trine. But I look at close orbs, and I dont do asteroids or nodes. So maybe someone else can.

Go consult another astrologer. No astrologer should respond to you in that way.

     Awesome chart!

I have a lot of retrogrades in my chart, including Saturn and Mercury. I...just plain don't seem to have the issues that other people have during them. I've had one bad thing happen during an MR ever, and in general life goes on as usual for me during those periods. I thought MR was just a lot of bullcrap until I was trying to respond to an astrologer during an MR period and boy, did her e-mail ever bounce. I gather it affects her...

Same here, I have natal retrogrades and find retrograde periods easy enough to manage.  Since you have the retro natally, you've been dealing with it all your life so should find these periods ok.  Best thing is to monitor what is going on  with you during a retro period so you can assess for yourself.

Yods, like any other aspect,  are what they are.  How you choose to work them is your decision. Get a consultation with a good astrologer like Elsa, who will advise neutrally, on how to get the best from them.

Well, Chamirose, I erased everything but one Yod, the Moon and Sun are conjunct so it's the same lines on the chart to Saturn and Jupiter. And everything is within a 2 degree orb, so it's pretty much on track, but some programs use a 1deg orb so they don't pick it up.

I just got a charting program and it says I have a T-Square, focal planet Sun, Moon, and another T-Sqpare focusing on Uranus, but I don't see the other ends of the squares. and it says I have a Grand Trine but it doesn't say which planets.

And don't be too disparaging on the reluctant astrologer, it was sort of a friend of a friend and he knew my chart was going to be a lot of trouble to analyze just as a favor to a friend. I should pay someone to look at this, but I have to find someone who specializes in this sort of oddity.

Oh and BTW, I have always worked hard and never had a bit of good luck, and certainly no success from my labors.

I don't yet have the skill to offer any insight to a chart of this depth, but I do want to say this:  Wowzers.

    And good luck!

sorry to shatter your illusion, but yods are not oddities.  Any competent astrologer will not be thrown by thier presence, no need to find "a specialist."

I've had a friend of a friend call me and ask about stuff in thier chart and I've said "dude, I dunno, looks crazy..."  because I didn't feel like working for free.   Doesn't mean your chart is mysterious or difficult.

Well even my basic astrology program offers a simple interpretation of the yods, but doesn't have the ability to synthesize a bigger picture, with two overlapping yods in conjunction (plus the other oddball stuff going on). And I don't really get this "finger of god" thing, is this supposed to be a pointer to where I will find success, or a finger pointing to my biggest challenge?

Anyway, I've been checking out these aspects and it seems like my new software is a bit too liberal with orbs. My "grand trine" is only within a 7.5 degree orb, and the T square within 6 orb. But the sun/moon yods are much closer, with a 3 and 4 degree orb max. And one of the t-squares is with Chiron, I think I'll disregard that unless advised otherwise. I can see why this software picks up aspects that other programs haven't.

I still don't know what to make of any of this, cartomancy is my field, not astrology.

I knew someone would say something like that. You don't have to be so cryptic. I'm not asking for a free reading, just point me in the right direction on interpreting this. I guess this is supposed to be a conflict between jupiter/saturn energies pointed at my sun/moon conjunction, but I can't make out any meaning in this. Single aspects, yes, I don't see the big picture.

Oh if only it was a cartomancy problem, I'd know what to do. Well maybe not, I can't read cards for myself, it's a notorious blind spot with card people.

sorry charles, ive got a scorpio stellium, cryptic is my bread and butter.

I would view it as a single yod focused on your sun/moon conj.  Go look up tenth house taurus stuff.  You said you have not received success from your labors.  you're on a long slow hard road.

The point of the yod is you're supposed to look at it.  you say you do not see, but thats not the point, the point is the looking itself. this is supported by two Rx planets.  Rxs are all about looking inward.

    Hi Charles

I'm not a regular, or an astrologer, but I have studied for ten years and thought I could offer a few words on the some of the potentials of your chart.

I would pay more attention to the aspects forming the yod, as I suspect I might be keeping you from appreciating what the aspects are telling you. Any chart needs to be looked at as a whole eventually, but I have found personally that focusing on the yod too much can take you away from other very important parts of your chart! That having been said, like notatirem I would argue that you have one yod, which centers on one very special aspect in your chart- you were born on a new moon! Although the moon is one degree behind the sun, I would argue this lifetime is the start of a whole new cycle for you. Also you have pluto in a critical degree trining mercury, which is also conjunct the south node, indicating that you have very well developed abilities with mercury rule pursuits (debating, writing, communications generally), with the trine to pluto in the 1st denoting that you are able to make quite a powerful impression in your communications. You could also make great use of the mercury opposition to nn/neptune in your cartomancy or even some creative expression such as writing?

Um.. back to the yod. If you take the"finger of god" approach to yods then your purpose is intimately related to tensions related to this new cycle and the conditions surrounding your sun/moon, and the sextile between your jupiter and saturn which reflect opportunities with regards to the principles of expansion/learning/new frontiers reflected by jupiter and perseverance/effort and understanding of restrictions designated by saturn (there are alternative expressions of these planets, these were just those that came to mind for me as I wrote).

There is also some reception between these two planets with jupiter in libra, the planet of saturns exaltation, and saturn in jupiters sign. This indiates to me that it is in fact quite a positive asset for you, as you can understand the principle of both planets as they relate to each other better than most.

When it comes to those  squares, I can only really see square, but not a tsquare as such. I would read it as issues which have their root in power/ authority issues originating from your early home environment involving both mother and father: the reason I see this as a possibility is that the 10th and the 1st are involved and the planets involved include both the moon/sun with pluto(control). While this combo is like to express itself in most of your relationships, it also give you the ability to make your mark on the world around you.

Overall this is a chart with a great deal of positive potential- I haven't commented on the retro planets, but there are a number of excellent books on the topic if you are looking for further info.

I am not too good at following up, so I'm hoping that others might be able to shed more light on your chart!

    Regards

    Hayley

Thanks for the detailed comments, Hayley, I especially appreciate it.

I hadn't considered that I was born under a new moon. As you can see, that moon/sun conjunct is a powerful aspect in my chart, perhaps more powerful than a mere "double-taurus." The pluto-merc aspect (plus merc in my sun sign) has been apparent to me (and others). My card teacher, Arne Lein, once did a reading and told me that I was a powerful speaker and "you could start a religious cult, except that you are too honest and don't believe in doing something like that." Ha. I did notice the mutual reception of jupiter/saturn and I'm trying to figure out the implications of that, and combined with the yod, it does make an interesting and complex aspect.

I have found some interesting web pages describing natal retrogrades, like:

    http://www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/retrogradeplanets.htm

    http://www.lynnkoiner.com/astrology-articles/retrogrades-in-the-natal-horoscope

These pages give some indications that I have some problems dating to my childhood and early parental environment, as you indicated.

My interest in natal retrogrades started with the recent neptune Rx, since I am natally neptune Rx. I noticed that the card readings I gave were particularly inspired during that Rx. It was the first time I actually noticed I was bringing down psychic energies in my readings. Up to that point, I thought I was doing tarot and cartomancy strictly as a mathematical exercise. I only reluctantly came to understand what I was actually doing.

Anyway, thanks again for the detailed work, I'll consider it in more depth and study it.

thanks for the links, i have seen these before, but really needed a bit of a refresh~ rx planets are work a second look, although i don't have any myself :)

it is interesting that you have found an outlet for your intuition (neptune) from an exercise in logic (mercury). funnily enough, I think many people who are drawn to astrology do so for a similar reason- it is a really structured way to access the natural intuitive facilities! I'm also not surprised that the tarot reader picked up on your persuasive abilities, her description of it fits nicely as with mercury conjunct south node,  these abilities are likely to come very naturally to you

Celeste Teal has done some very interesting work with nodes that might be worth a look  http://books.google.com.au/books?id=RtHs_LNH3d0C&printsec=frontcover&dq=lunar+nodes&ei=MntRS6iJFIiEkATEsqStDQ&cd=1#v=onepage&q=&f=false

I know you're a regular Charles, so I'll probably see you around!

Thanks Hayley. I've been looking at Lunar Nodes stuff, I never heard of it until quite recently.

Interesting what you say about neptune/mercury. I was at a party doing tarot cards during the last neptune retrograde, I was doing especially amazing readings during that Rx. Someone at the party asked me how I feel when I'm doing cards, do I feel some sort of energy from the cosmos or something? I said no, I get a feeling like I'm doing difficult mathematics, trying to analyze relationships between numbers on the cards. Then I did a card reading, and the person I was doing cards for asked me to stop right in the middle when she got a phone call. That was the first time anyone tried to "pause" my tarot reading. I was trying to keep my reading in mind, when suddenly I started sweating, I felt like I was on fire. That was when I realized I really was drawing down some sort of cosmic energy and I wasn't even aware of it. Ha.
