So last year I did a Saturn aspects presentation at a conference. I picked up Saturn Cycles by Wendell Perry while I was there and mentioned it to the audience, and they were all "Yeah, do something on THAT next year!"

So, what other sources would people recommend for reading on this topic specifically? Books or online sites/discussion would be welcome (besides Elsa's, which is the only one I think I've found so far that was really helpful!).

I found a few books on Amazon that sounded good, but since I can't flip through them in person, I was wondering if anyone here had opinions on Erin Sullivan's Saturn in Transit, Twelve Faces of Saturn by Bill Tierney, and Saturn, Fatal Attraction by Adam Smith.

Interestingly enough, reading the book that I did, it seems like people's transits really boil down to "you have to grow up." They don't always conform to what they seem like they would be, i.e. Saturn on your descendant doesn't mean you get married or divorced every time, Saturn on your midheaven isn't always a career move. Interesting...though makes my job harder, I suppose.

And if you were going to my presentation, what would you want to see? (note: I'll probably put it online afterwards anyway.)

do you ever check out aquariuspapers? it's a wicked site. sorry i don't have much more to offer, but something i often think about with saturn is the boundaries a person erects/needs to defend with evolution of the self.

that's something i'd be looking for. just a thought.

and, good on ya, and good luck!:)

I read Erin Sullivan's, and it's pretty dense, but I enjoyed it. She uses the a lot of mythology, Saturn as Kronos, The Hero's passage, etc in comparison to Saturn's transit around the natal chart. It's really good, super thick material. I read it once, and I feel like I need to read it again and take notes.

I haven't read the other two, but have heard good things about Tierney...

                                          Ways to deal with Saturn:

Stay on your very best beahvior.

    Keep life simple.

Weed out the jerks in your life.

    Get grounded, stay grounded.

Know who your friends really are.

Hunker down, get on your rain gear, hold on to the mast (Spiritual fortitude) when the going gets rough.

Remind yourself this is boot camp for your spirit. When you are released you will be high-5 ing yourself until the cows come home.

Don't step in cow poo (get sucked into people crap.)

Circle the wagons, (create a safe refuge with people you trust.)

    Study the Tao

Stay out of victim mentality. It's easy to get there.

Be on guard for depression and other out of balance behaviors.

Meet, greet, embrace and understand your Shadow. Make friends with it. Give it a special name and start referring to it when your Shadow shows up. It loves to be acknowledged. This way your shadow won't be chasing you around.

    Remain calm and carry on.

    Viola!!
