I'm weird, I think, but I'm "conservative" about both parenting and relationships.
By "parenting" I mean that I strongly believe that a parent is a parent - there is no room to be your child's friend when you are trying to teach them the tools they need to becom a self-sufficent adult. That doesn't mean that you can't be their confidante, and you don't have to ride your kid like a Triple Crown jockey. But I believe in giving them as much responsibilty as they can age-appropriately handle and showing them the truth of what the 'real world' is going to expect of them and preparing them for it. I also personally do not believe in many of the methods and main-stream behavor that's become normal in this day and age. Some things I see today just leave me aghast, especially the lack of respect for elders and authority.
By "relationships" I mean that I'm conservative about marriage issues. I personally believe that one should marry before they have kids and that a marriage should be a committment that you both work on with the intention that you -really- did/are doing all you can to make it work. If you have to call it quits after some good, hard effort -fine, but ideally you go into it intending to stick it out for the long-haul. I've seen such a trend of my friends and people my age choosing to live together forever and having kids and what not and that's TOTALLY not for me and not part of my ideals.
On a side note that's related, it also horrifies me the number of people my age that are having pregnancies they didn't plan for as though birth control doesn't exist or they're too lazy to use it. It seems epidemic these days and I really don't see a logical excuse for it.
To each their own, of course, absolutely, though. What works for me doesn't have to work for anyone else.
Saturn in Libra in the 3rd.
I had to fight off the "When I was a kid" urge - but it's true. I'm a product of my upbringing. I think my mom did right by me now that I'm an adult and am IN what I've been prepared for!
I hear ya. I get disgusted a lot by the lack of common respect in today's society, as well as the complete lack of responsible parenting that seems to be visible in every direction. Too bad they don't have intelligence tests to make sure people are actually competent to have children before their procreate...
Saturn in 10th, and starting your own business (rather than joining an old established firm) scares the bejeezus out of me.
Saturn in the 9th... and, well, I don't like to travel! I fear it....
It's my topmost planet, highest in my chart.... makes me wonder if I'm gonna be a teacher again... probably....
Saturn in Capricorn in the third - I also agree with Luci about marriage and children.
I am "conservative" about being loyal in relationships, and most definitely loyal to "family".
Saturn in Gemini, 5th house. I am also conservative regarding parenting and relationships (for me at least). When it comes to others, I'm of the "whatever works for you" school of thought.
I am also conservative/reserved when it comes to communicating. When I read an interpretation of how Saturn affects my 5th house, I thought it was weird, because I always thought of myself as a very open person (ask me a question, I'll give you an answer/my opinion with no problem). However, I realize I constantly filter myself when I write or speak. And I used to stutter when I was young, so it completely makes sense. Additionally, I am a writer and I had (have) to really work on expressing myself as authentically as possible. Not quite there yet, but now that I am aware, I'm working on it.
I've got 9th house Saturn (in Scorpio), but I'm totally opposite moonpluto -- if I had the time & money, I'd travel til I couldn't stand it any more. Uranus in Cancer/6th squares it and my Aqua moon trines it. Seeing other parts of the world, even the US totally feeds my soul....
So what am I conservative about???? I've been sitting here pondering that for the last 30 minutes or so. Probably making major life changes that others would judge me negatively about, though they'd make me personally very happy. Very afraid to do that. Yup. Good old Saturn keeps me in line there, while Uranus constantly pokes me.
Saturn in scorp 6th house .Socially I am not conservative at all, but when it comes to written rules and laws ,corruption ect ,I am very conservative.
Saturn in Taurus in the 8th.
I would have said once upon a time that I was conservative about sex -- boy was I conservative -- but I can't say that anymore, strictly speaking.
don't make drastic changes until you've identified a problem, researched it, analyzed, and projected a bunch of different options for long term suitability. maybe it's the scientist in me (or the hard aspects to mercury and uranus) but throwing money at a problem and hoping it will fix itself just disgusts me.
resources should be used wisely and with long term strategies in mind (saturn-pluto aspect for this one, i think.)
intergrity on affectionate and social interactions (saturn/venus/11th house)
and i think i'm turning out to be a very fifth house capricorn mom. not terribly playful (thankfully the SO has some non afflicted leo) but the primary thing i expect from my kid is to make an effort to learn personal responsibility and to treat people with respect.

the things i heard come out of some of my students' mouths sometimes just appalled me... makes me wonder if anyone spent any effort trying to teach them how to interact in the world. (back when i was a kid that kind of thing was unheard-of...)
Definitely Money. I estimate double for all expenses and bank any windfalls. I make a really good salary but spend like a college student. I'm constantly looking for ways to reduce expenses while maintaining quality of life. Consequently I have no debts and own my home outright.
Capricorn 3rd house: I'm pretty reserved when it comes to speaking. Uh, usually, that is. Maybe not so much here.
Saturn-Mercury in Libra 12th: hey, I don't know.
I'm working on being more conservative in all areas with this Pluto in Capricorn stuff that's going on.![]()
Saturn in Libra in the ninth. Relationships have to be equal, spiritual, and they've gotta be great companions on road trips.
Saturn 11H
"Someone presented with a huge assorted chocolate box of friends, but they really only like the coconut ones, and then even these must have just the right blend of premium coconut, toasted, crispy, the chocolate must be Dark Peruvian and... you get the point. Hence the friends are driven insane wondering: am I the dark chocolate premium toasted coconut or the mint one being looked upon in disgust on it's way to the trash?"
I have to confess the above quote does somewhat describe how the younger me handled friends. I wasn't very aware of how picky I was, how self limiting my fears of the "wrong" kind of friend. Thank goodness I grew up a bit and still have some growing to do. Now I enjoy the assortment and see the value of each gift for what it is.
Elsa's recent video on the blog about how to know if one is headed in the right direction or making the right choices - look for a Saturn figure. Generally I am this Saturn figure for my friends. I'm not really the friend that spends late nights on your couch vegging out in front of the television, calling you every day just to chat, sharing secrets, knowing every detail of your life. I may not be available for the mundane day to day friendliness because of other obligations. I'm open to having fun and hanging out but the reality is I can't do it too often, at a moments notice, or into the wee hours of the morning.
But without fail, even if we haven't talked in a while, I'm there to support and guide my friends in tricky situations when they need a friend most. And they are there for me in the same way. We can not talk for a while and just pick up where we left off. The relationship is still valuable without us being tied at the hip. Sometimes people have surprised me by referring to me as the only person there for them when they really need someone. When the veil is pulled back and reality hits.
I have clear clean cut boundaries. No FWB, no borrowing money (though I will give what I can spare and expect nothing in return, I wouldn't ask for money, probably wouldn't take money offered), no mothering/parenting, nothing that blurs those carefully laid lines. A friend is really just a friend.
Long term goals, hopes, wishes, Saturn keeps me very realistic about these. I know things will take time, focus, and work and plan accordingly. It keeps me in line too, not being manipulative or unethical to achieve. The moment I do anything like that, Saturn is sure to bite.
My knee jerk response to this was money, but astrologically I have no idea where this came from.
8th house Scorpio is where my Saturn sits, still nothing jumped out at me. So I looked a little further, He trines my 5th house Uranus. I was a conservative parent but I tried to teach them to whistle while they worked. ![]()
Interesting question. I have Saturn in Aquarius and don't know what an MP3 player is and I use Blackberries to make pie. It's in the 5th and I have spent most of my life knowing I'm very creative but being too scared to do anything about it. However, I'm now in my second year at art college and turning the fear into joy. And guess what? Everything I do is conceptual or abstract in some way - Aquarius. Might get round to the MP3 thing next....
Well they say that what ever your Saturn is in you can either be "conservative" or go overboard and I swing both ways with that but mostly overboard. Saturn in Sag. in the first house but boardering on the second at 6 degrees plus my second house is in Capricorn ruled by Saturn. Go figure. I really have no idea what any of this means!..lol
saturn in aqua in the 1st - am i conservative about appearances & mannerism? well no,i like people who try out the new way instead of the old...these days whenever i pick up the phone & don't recognize the #..all i say is "who are you/do i know you ?"no "hello"....my manners are horrible...i wear everthing from minis' to polo necks with plain jeans....what else does the 1H rule? maybe em conservative about something else...as a kid i was shy but in my early teens i threw my timidity away...
I have an Aqua Saturn in 1st... directly opposed Leo Jupiter in 7th.
I've never really thought much about the Aqua side of things, but I am very conservative when it comes to projecting myself... even if I am not consciously doing so, people constantly point out to me that I'm very shy... even when I thought I was being relaxed!
I think for me, the problem is with Jupiter Leo, I have always longed to be in the spotlight with a large group of friends. I love performing in plays.... however, I hate the rehearsal process because I'm so frightened of letting my guard down.
They both form a T-Square with mercury...trouble with communicating?
silent jenny - earlier it used to be the same with me...painfully shy!!!i remember once i was @ a party where i knew Noone. 2 guys invited me for a game of table-tennis as i was standing in a corner watching em but i declined. My dad told me to go over & you should've seen me after a few minutes....i was the nosiest,messiest,naughtiest....& the guys were like "u're so diff"....But plutos' transit in sag transformed 4 personal planets completely....These days i speak to even those i donno..smile @ people on the street with whom i hold eye contact....but i suffer from probs like -i donno where to look when em walking alone @ times,etc...with time,em evolving....:D
DUH I finally get this one. HA HA HA.
Saturn 8th house Scorpio, trines Uranus 5th house Leo. I was a free love child of the late 60's and 70's. Wild thing, you make everything groovy.
Today I am a born again virgin, Venus in Capricorn all grown up. ROFLMAO. We all know what Saturn in Libra is doing. No relationship, no sex! Jupiter inconjunct Venus, unlucky in love anyway, so why give away the goodies.
my appearance.
hahaha. that's a joke.
relationships. 7th house saturn. i think marriage is serious and relationships with other people are very serious, too - you don't mess around with that trust thing, you treat other people right. lots of respect, loyalty, support and sacrifice as called for.
I have Saturn in Leo and to tell you the truth, as a Sun-Uranus, I forgot I was conservative about anything. But the answer is: loyalty. In my world, you'd better know who you're backing. Or as my family joked about me, "Queenie", when I was little, "all ways are my ways."
Saturn conjunct Sun in the 9th...very conservative about expressing myself...until you get to know me/I get to know you and feel safe. Then my goofy Sag rising comes out and I am pretty wacky.
Also long for overseas/exotic travel (Sag moon?), but when I get there I don't really like it unless I am staying with family or people I know that live in that country. I lived in Japan for awhile and did not like it at all (except for the general neatness that my Virgo self found very endearing-even cartons of strawberries were arranged neatly)!!!!
Saturn in Libra in the 5th. Hard time giving myself permission to have fun. Never feel like I've worked hard enough or accomplished enough to deserve to play. Have been very conservative in relationships (extremely committed and loyal) and raising children. My kids were amazed when they heard me tell a naughty joke after they were grown. It was an OMG moment for them. LOL
Depth, thanks... i have some heavy pluto transits coming up... I hope one of the upsides is I get some powers of assertion! =)

Where is your Saturn? Does your Saturn bring you to be conservative about something and how does it affect you?
I have Saturn in Sagittarius. I am very philosophically and academically conservative. I don't cotton to postmodernism, subversive narratives, skepticism about causal efficacy, or gender theory. Particularly doubts about reality in epistemology. I am kind of a philosophical dinosaur in that sense. I think a lot of people found that term funny, academically conservative, and assumed I was socially conservative, which is far from true. <!--Session data-->
