....what should I expect.

You could find yourself thinking alot about your associations and your friends.  Do your personal goals "fit" in with them.  Maybe weeding them out by who's serious and who's superficial.  What happened to me,  I was able to quit my full time job to become a stay at home mom.  I lost alot of my work friends,  but I made new ones too.  My girls are grown now and through all that cycling I have one near and dear friend who has been there all along, through my career, my mothering, and now back to my career.  Picture rocks being sifted through a screen,  the one thats left, thats your friend.

I just finished this and it became really clear who my friends are and aren't.. and how we are friends. I cut one out who was fairweather and negative. And I was patient with the others who seemed tied up with other stuff to be avaiable to me. One was in a draining crappy relationship. Because it was in virgo for me I basically limited my criticism of her and hung in there as her friend. She's now finally leaving the guy and will probably be more available to spend time with now.. although i've moved to another city. My gay friend is cemented because I helped him get his condo after a lot of long talks. And I have new understanding and limits with 2 of my oldest friends.. something that helps as we go forward as adults. I made new friends who aren't as close but i think that was because of jupiter in aquarius. I also suffered through working with a group who helped me move forward with my ambitions but otherwise restricted me.

11th House also represents hopes and dreams (I learned that here!)...a more realistic (Saturn) version of what you are dreaming of/hoping for. That may come through awareness or lessons (Saturn)

Nothing bad happened to me during the transit, but my friends at this point are pretty loyal anyway. Not a lot of chaff to weed out, those people were gone before Virgo.

Thanks guys. I'm already feeling the effects. Someone I thought was a good friend is now envious because things are looking up for me. It hurts. I would be happy for them if it were the other way around.

Saturn is close to wrapping up in my 11th house.  Like the textbook stuff, I started to become uncomfortable in social situations (or unproductive social situations, actually). 

"What am I doing here?"

"What do these folks do for me?"

"Does their influence bring me down or better me?"

"I'm tired of doing the same damn things, going to the same damn places, and seeing the same damn people."

These are some of the things I started hearing myself think quite often.  Lost a friend or two, but rightfully so. 

I think mostly though, as Kashmiri said about hopes and dreams, I was dealing with the disdain I felt for myself.  The disappointment that I hadn't fullfilled my hopes and dreams....and the reality that alot of the shit I dreamed about doing I probably actually sucked at...haha!  REALITY!!

For me also, Saturn 11th house made me think "Who can I group with (befriend) so that we can do big things (serve) together for the betterment of the world at large =)

I just want to be a woman of substance and integrity, and I'd like a few friends to share that with and let our positive energies bounce off eachother and all over the place!

Well leaving my 11th house too - can't say much about the "friends" thing, because my life revolves around my family.  But the "hopes and dreams" thing, I had been wanting to get my masters for years.  I have been wrapped up in taking care of my daughter, and kept waiting for the "right" time.  I realized this summer that the right time is never going to appear, so I just enrolled, and now, like my son's t-shirt says....."I is a kollege stoodent...."
