I wonder about this one.

My boyfriend has a Sagittarius moon and is highly skeptical, but I think it's because he mistakenly believes that horoscope = predetermination and that's anathema to his Sadgey ideas about FREE WILL, but not a Sadge thing otherwise.  I've also run into a few Scorpio types who seem to think it's cool to hate on le astro.

Anyone else have an idea about this?  Is it different from the signs most likely to be super-astrologers, or can certain types flip both ways?  Can you point to the astrology?

I've noticed a lot of Scorpio skeptics too~ they hate to be "figured out" haha.

As for sags, I guess I've never seen them as terribly skeptical but I've never bet one who was really into astrology either..

i have both sagittarius and scorpio stellium and i'm a hardcore believer lol 

my bf is sun/mer/neptune sag and moon gemini opposite that bunch and he's a skeptical and doesn't believe astrology is logical enough to be taken seriously

Yep. I've met the scorp skeptics. Those are the ones who won't tell you their birthday if you ask (in my experience)

And actually I think most people are skeptical because they think the daily horoscope in the paper is what it's all about. They have no clue -- but tell them a few things about themselves and.... well they may still be skeptical....

Some people are also just more respectful of what is different or unfamiliar to them -- I have a friend: virgo sun, aqua moon, tons of other virgo, scorp mars-- and he thinks its interesting. He doesn't judge at all. Oh yeah, he has sun conjunct saturn --

I'm inclined to agree with the earth concept, my hubby is a cappy and he thinks this stuff is a bunch of hooha.  oddly,  Ghosts and possession (as in the Exorcist) he believes in.

moonpluto, I second the (surprising) acceptance of astrology by people who have lots of strong Virgo. Maybe not a "belief," but definitely acceptance/interest.

An astrologer once said (I forgot where I read this) that the sign that least signed up for his classes was Taurus. Fire and air signs were most represented and very "into it" - a lot of Aquarians probably took part! Doesn't that sign rule astrology? I think Sadge was eager to learn about astrology too. 

Gemini are skeptical about it for sure! Or at least I was, for a time It must tie into whether or not it's "logical" enough for them to embrace. I know someone with strong Virgo whom I suspect would be open to astrology if he wasn't so sure that it conflicted with his religious views.  Strangely, he too is open to the paranormal, but astrology = "the devil," pfft.  

I would think earth signs because they are more associated with the tangible. 

Capricorn, perhaps. I've known many Virgos and Tauruses who aren't keen.

I find air and water signs to be the most open to astrology. 

I disagree with the Earth sign theory, and not just because I am one. :P

Every Virgo I know (including my boyfriend who is a Virgo sun with mercury in virgo as well, plus lots of virgo sun friends) either really strongly believes in astrology or at least is open to the idea. I only know 2 caps and one of them is into astrology and the other is just indifferent.  As for us bulls, I am "way into" (haha) astrology and have met maybe 3 or 4 Taurus who believed in in it. I only have met ONE Taurus in my life who said it was absolute baloney.

 edit// however i do realize that my view could be biased. because of my lifestyle, i'm  likely to be around and meet people that believe in astrology- lucky me, huh??

My Gemini partner, DOES NOT believe in Astrology at all. He has LOADS of Gemini. and he tells me it isn't logical. I just tell him, don't knock it until you completely understand astrology and we can have a "logical" conversation on how astrology works.

I wonder if it will become known that Obama has an astrologer, and if it does, what that will do to popular opinion?  He's way more popular than Nancy Reagan was, it seems. <!--Session data-->

Definitely earth Sun signs, or people with loads of earth planets.

Someone who's an earth Sun can have loads of fire or water in their chart and hardly any earth, making them more open to the idea of astrology.

My husband thinks astrology, ghosts, and other "new agey" stuff is hoo-hah, but then again, he has 4 earth planets.  He's a Cap Sun.

Purely anecdotal, but...when I was a girl I would buy these little monthly horoscope scrolls at the supermarket checkout stand. I noticed that sometimes they were sold out of Aquarius but there were always plenty of Virgo and Scorpio. I've noticed this again and again when looking at items sold for individual signs (books, greeting cards, etc.). So that always made me think that Aquarians are the believers and Virgos and Scorpios were the non-believers.

I don't know about which signs per say....have ran into a million different people who are skeptical (obviously not me or wouldn't be here duh)..i have 3 planets of Virgo (Mercury, venus & Pluto) .but I would say many fundamentalist Christians, and or other Christianity. I'm speaking of experience, not hating on anybody!!!! I love all faiths & people. I think it all depends on how you were raised too, in an open-minded background or more tendency of closed-minded. My mom was and is still today a practicing astrologer so that helped! ;-)
