Snow in Denver
posted 3 months ago in General
I love the snow in Colorado because the sun is always coming out and shining on snowy days! So beautiful. I have never shoveled snow and could not with my disability so I guess I won't be moving there soon though!
In AZ we have no weather except a bit of snow on the mountains which helps. I often miss the seasons.
We've not had winter yet either (unless you cound the one night that we were traveling home from holiday, lol). The little ones & I have decided that, while we miss the snow this year, maybe a temperate year would be a nice change :) But, I'm wondering like Tam, if we'll get blasted from mid-Feb, March and into April,

Dog Joy! Lila is crazy happy in the snow. Further, it's late enough to open the dog hole in the fence. I was putting on my snow boots to do that and looked out to see her SITTING very politely at the the blocked dog hole, waiting for someone to open up the gateway to fun. I swear, this dog goes to Disneyland through the hole, on a daily basis. Makes me think of nutsy!
Sounds like pure joy, lol! Our dogs love the snow, they'll be out all day rolling around playing in it, etc. I'm always worried about them, but they are fine, it's the heat that they suffer from. Hope Lila has a wondeful snow day :)

Apparently everyone's had an odd winter. This was by far the warmest winter I've experienced, until now. Snow was predicted for today and it should be falling all through Saturday. Nothing happened yey.Down town the wind is very strong. It's only 6-7 degrees below zero but the wind is making it feel like -15-20. I've been going to college today, trying not to be blown away, and kept telling myself "It's worse in Canada"...cause someone posted here that it was -35 in Canada or sth. like that.
Hahaha my dog snatches shoes all the time. Can't count the number of slippers he'd destroyed.
We've had no winter either up here. It's been consisently over 0C and raining. We haven't really had any snow...just a bit which then melts. Apparently we're getting the winter Kentucky normally gets.
It is apparently due to La Nina being in effect at the same time as a very tight "Arctic Oscillation" (ie blame it on MIchele or should I say thank you!).
Yes, the little freak! My husband was in the living room doing his receipts. I was talking to him when I saw a critter dart by the window in front. "Was that my dog?" I said.
I opened the front door and there is, Lila all happy to see me. She is supposed to be the back, see.
We checked out yard so she must have gotten out through the neighbor's. Personally, this scares the hell out of me but my husband seemed to take in stride. She had to come around the block to get home, see? And so she did.
She's smart as a whip, I'll tell you that. We have chicken and ham bone here.

First they said 8 inches, then 8-12 inches and now they say 22 inches by Saturday night. I just shoveled 4-5. I kind of hope we get a big dump because it's been freakishly dry. Last minute airline tickets are cheap right now. No one wants to fly through here.
