WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican Sen. Judd Gregg withdrew his nomination as President Barack Obama's commerce secretary Thursday, citing "irresolvable conflicts" over the administration's stimulus bill and the upcoming 2010 census.

"We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy," Gregg said in a statement announcing the decision. "Obviously, the president requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives."

Gregg's birthday is Valentine's Day. He's an Aquarian with Mars in Aquarius. He's got a Sadge Moon and Venus in Capricorn.  Shocking, fiscally conservative and apt to going to go against his "beliefs"

Anyone want to weigh in?

From what I'd read, he isn't really all that fiscally conservative. He still wanted to do a bailout by the federal gov't... that's not too conservative in my way of thinking.

Anyway, he SAID that the stimulus package is the reason he is quitting the vetting process but who knows what it really is haha.

So that is Richardson and now Gregg - no one wants to be Commerce Secretary. I don't blame them.
