I love 'em.  They're breathtaking and worth waiting for.  I've seen PLENTY of them over Disneyland.  One of the most memorable was a day in '88 when I was working the County Fair Games Gallery at Great America in Santa Clara, and the whole sky was filled with deep pinks, purples, reds, and oranges, and it seemed like a beautiful, technicolor dream.

Do you have any sunsets or sunrises that  you remember particularly?  Are there photos you can share?

I personal prefer sunrises to sunsets... I'm a morning person and feel disappointed if I wake up too late and miss one.  This pic is from our annual Wooden Boat Festival (not taken by me).

I actually have photos of two sunsets in particular which I fell in love with. Unfortunately, I have no scanner. Sad news!

They were both in Australia--one sunset was like a Monet painting, the purples, pinks, oranges and blues of the sky juxtaposed perfectly together...the other was in the outback, the deepest reds and oranges I have ever seen to this day.

I once went on a trip around Australia--6 weeks of seeing the sun rise and set in beautiful isolation every day. It changed my life.

Damn, I never see sunrises!  I LOVE watching Sunrise Earth on tv in HD, though.  

I love sunrises and sunsets...But the moon kills me I just took a picture of it right now it was decending over a mountain and right before it disappered completely, it looked like a gold glowing sail..it was gorgeous..Leo moon showing off..will share the picture as soon I get it transfered.There was a full moon this winter,I think it was in feb, I am not sure..I was on the subway ,about 6.30 in the morning...suddently out of the tunnel , there is this light, than this huge Moon, completely gold ...never seen it so big ...the hole compartment of people where completely mesmerized ..look at the moon!!Will never forget that moon...

Growing up by the beach in California I've seen plenty of sunsets... Now living on the East Coast I've gotten to see a few sunrises at the beach and those are awesome, as well :p

Prefer sunsets to sunrises and I really couldn't say why.  They're just comfy.

Best sunrise was a morning out on the back porch, sitting on the swing and reading.  It was a very foggy night (visibility about 30') and when the sun was just about up everything turned this incredible royal-electric blue.  The backlit trees on that color were breathtaking!  I still wish I had a picture of that.  :)

Seen too many wonderfully colorful sunsets to count.  I live in an area with a lot of chemical plants which, while bad for the air quality, makes for astounding sunsets with all the particulates floating around.  This pic is a tad big, but typical for a summer sunset (linkage!).

I just remembered - coming back from New York one summer, and flying through the dateline - that was amazing! Dark night on one side and the most beautiful sunrise on the other....wow.

Having a hard time posting my picture of a sunrise - taken in Egypt looking out over the Nile and at Karnak Temple....perhaps just picture it in your mind?

Nothing is more beautiful than see a sunrise or sunset from an airplane above the cloud. I'm partial to the sunrises though because the sky becomes bright red and it's simply the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen.

this sunrise is from my back yard. we had to cut the oak tree down because it was falling and super dangerous, so there won't be another one like this.....
