Synastry... Bah humbug!
posted 1 month ago in Love, Sex and Relationships
To help with illiustration, here's my chart. I did have it above, but houses 7-9 were under the ads where you couldn't see them. ![]()
Anything in your chart that would tip you off as to why you're so attracted to Pluto/Scorpio? Pluto appears to be making lots of good contacts there...
I'm curious about how you guys came up with the Cap sun/Aquarius rising combo for good synastry
I wonder if there's a particular sun/rising I oughta be looking for *laughs*
SaD, I've never looked at a synastry chart without another person...ie.never done the theoretical synastry (you should be with X Y Z)
Cap with Aquarius ASC...why do you think they said that? With your Libra, I'd think having a partner whose Sun sign squared that business....er, not my guess, but hey I'm just an armchair philosopher!
BTW your Mars/Venus conjunction opposes my Venus/Mars conjunction in synastry, funny! You sure you wouldn't like a little Aries bullshit in yer life? LOL
I agree with Kasmiri, You've got too much Libra, a Capricorn would annoy/be annoyed by you. I would say fulfill that descendant with a sun-saturn type. Maybe a jolly but serious when it needs to be Sagittarius. An early one that fits in your 5th house would be fun for you.
A Sadge would be more likely to have some Scorpio too, right? :P
My mans a Sadge,
With a Scorpio Venus,
And he loves to love me,
With his great big...
The whole sun/rising thing: A Cap sun would fall in my 7th (theoretically), and my sun would be in the 7th (again, theoretically) for an Aquarius rising. It's all a bit sketchy since I've never dated a Cap sun or Aqua rising, but supposedly this should be one of my best matches since s/he's what I'm looking for intrinsically and vice-versa. *shrugs* Like I said, I don't get it. These people have no ooooomph for me.
Kash, funny you should mention that! Never dated an Aries, but I loooooove their energy! Mid-to-late Aries planets give me a grand fire trine. Ditto early Gem, they complete a grand air trine. WOO! I'm sure if I found me some kind of Aries/Gem/Scorp combo, I'd be hooked like a fuckin' flounder. *nodnodnod*
Francetta, it's no mystery to me why I go for peeps with lots of Scorp or Pluto action. They just trigger my hot buttons, both sex and anger, which equals much yayness! Mars-Venus-Pluto, dude. Must. Have. UNDERTOW. *laughs*
My mans a Sadge,
With a Scorpio Venus,
And he loves to love me,
With his great big... heinous
mouth?
*runs away cackling*
i tend to believe (these days) to find the person (meaning, find someone you like, etc) and then look at the chart. For me, synastry and couple comparisons make the best sense after the fact. That said, I would avoid challenging saturn aspects between charts. Recently I looked at someone's chart and in comparing the two they had TWO venus-saturn contacts, the opposition and the square. Well, unless they have some stellar stuff going on, I kind of doubted that venus (love) would withstand all that. Saturn is cold....
Also, I've seen many times when I have a Mars trine with a guy and am not attracted at all. Attraction and love are so mysterious, even more mysterious than the chart.
I would follow your heart and listen to your intuition --
notatirem, I love your wit!
Synastry always has confused me. I don't know have any idea how to pinpoint what would work with my chart verses what doesn't. :/
I'm on the same camp as Moonpluto. Follow your heart has been my motto.
I don't think I've fought my synastric match, my man's sun is in the sign of my descendant, we also have the same moon sign, and our suns are in the same element.
I think the elements are important, so that Aries thing sounds like an interesting idea!
yay alicia. I also agree with u abt elements in theory. Someone all fire wld find me dull (I'm water/earth except for my leo venus but it's in 12th)
I am continually stumped. My longest relationship was with someone who squared me up and down. Our suns conjunct and a venus pluto conjunction but otherwise squares--
Like I said: mystery. (Yeah, I have lotsa neptune influence too)
Ah, well... the guy I was talking to commented on the fact that my last two men have had Scorp rising and stelliums. "Why do you do this?" he wanted to know, "These guys aren't looking for you, really, you're just hunting them." *laughs* Yup!
What can I say? I have a type.
I should hook up with a Virgo or Capricorn, but I have no interest in another earth sign. (Plus the Cap I dated ditched me to go to work.) Bo-ring. I have a lot of fire planets (more than I do earth), so I'd probably prefer someone on the air-fire continuum.
I should have been with geminy or taurus following the "best" synastry but never was...so I could say I go against the accepted...I love virgos...eros conj north node in virgo...
Look at eros, it's perhaps in scorpio...sadiablo...
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! How can anyone reduce the art of relating to a formula for God's sake. You fancy who you fancy and you can't force yourself (or reason yourself) into fancying anything else. If you go for Scorpionic types then go for Scorpionic types and get whatever it is you need from it. And there must be something there for you or you wouldn't be drawn to them. Bah humbug indeed.
bravo Opal!
Yay Chamirose!
I'm a Cap Sun who's been married for over 29 years, this time. I was married for three years to a Leo and it didn't work.
I didn't have any success with the Leo-Cap sun marriage. The signs are too different. So even though I'm a Cap, I would not recommend one for a Leo.
My man's a Sadge! His sun is in my 7th house, but my DC is Scorpio. My sun is in his 4th house. But the kicker is our conjunction in Cap, his moon on my sun within a quarter of a degree. The conjunction of the sun and moon is a sign of long term partnership. I could go on about our conjunct Mercuries, trine Venuses, etc.
SaDiablo, Aquarius is also in your 7th house. If you were doing equal houses, your moon would be in the 7th. I say look for an Aquarius whose sun conjuncts your moon. A little Scorpio or Sag that falls in your 5th house of sex would be exciting.
With a Cancer rising you probably are intuitive about the people you meet.
Good luck.
I think I missed the point, The answer to your question is no, not now.
My first marriage that didn't work was fighting against the lack of synastry.
I think house placements paint a picture as well as aspects. Just looking at your chart with the Venus/Mars/Pluto would make me think a Scorpio Sun Moon or rising would be quite mesmerizing to you and just pull you in on a gut level. That along with your Moon placed in the 8th, it just adds another layer. Maybe it is the still waters and moody depths of the Cancer house mixed with the steam and danger of the Scorp water element that draws you in? This is familiar to you with Cancer as your rising?
I think if there was an earthy sign that would trigger some bells and whistles, it might be more a Taurus because of the affinity of your second house placement of the Sun. Your Leo Sun could brawl with that Taurus Sun and then the making up would make it all worthwhile you know >:>
On the other hand I could be totally off base LOL

Okay, I'm a heretic and got a chart report from someone not Elsa. *ducks to avoid the rotten tomatoes* We were talking about my taste in partners and how I go for men who, astrologically, just should not dig me a'tall. So here's my thing:
According to theory, for "good" synastry I should be looking for a Cap with Aquarius rising (hopefully with my personal preference for someone with significant Scorp or Pluto). But Cap suns leave me cold. I'm great friends with Cap risings, but never any romantic sparks. Not to mention the fact that we're looking at 11th or 12th sun placement, which makes me all sqwicky when I think about it. WTF, dudes?
Anyone else "fight" their accepted synastric matches?
