the update on the story changes the initial flavor: she didn't just walk into the police station, the abductor/rapist brought her, her two children, and his wife in when he was required to come in for parole-related questioning (convicted sex offender).  holy fucking crap.  what a tragedy.

I'm liberal to an extent, but when it comes to people like this....forget it! I don't think sex offenders should ever be let out of prison. It blows my mind that they are let out of prison. What part of "repeat offenders" is confusing to the justice system?

At this point I think the media feeding frenzy is disgusting. They have her 5th grade principal being interviewed and crap.  This poor girl suffers this ordeal for a lifetime and now they report on her every mole. Jeez, you'd think they could give a person a day of privacy but no. Turn up everything you can and publish it, claim you care - well it is certainly not in her interest.

I really hope Saturn in Libra brings some decorum back - some standard of behavior that is not absolutely disgusting.

Just been reading about this..although it's been on the news of course, in UK, everywhere..feel so close to tears.. there are no words. There are so many ways to lose a person. As a mum, I can't bear to read it all, yet her mum will hear it all, and how that lovely girl has coped..with her Taurean steadfastness and passive acceptance it seems of what she couldn't change..then the two kids who are old enough to be incredibly mixed up by all of this..oh dear. Times like this I'm so grateful there are people in the world with decency, like Soldier, whose words are solidly reassuring. Note that transiting Pluto is trine her Jupiter ..as she is freed.

But all in, the fact that a monster like that can do these things ..and be able to walk free all these years, believing himself to be a wonderful guy, with a heartwarming tale..yeeeuch..deluded folk are scary. Soldier..hope there are millions more like you.

And the stepfather, his life was ruined as he was a suspect, yet he witnessed the abduction and went after the car on his bike..unsuccessfully.. his marriage broke up, trust lost..what a price he's paid too, trying to prove innocence over something that's caused him untold pain too. His vindication at age 60, won't take away the years of anguish. Nobody's coming out of this really well, but thank heavens at least, she's out.  

OK the Soldier can't run for President - he's gotta work in the shadows and do the dirty work and you can't do that with the fuckin' cameras on you.

Actually, he would LOVE to run for president. He has his whole platform laid out... he knows everything he would "tell the motherfuckers", who he would shoot, how he'd deal with the press and every leader around the world, especially those who think they are going to stand up and make hour long speeches about how the United States sucks. 

He expects the people would "kick his ass out in 3 minutes", reason being that they are "morons" of couse.

"There is no a lot you can do for a motherfucker when he's got no brains..."

Ahh, well there you go then.  I think he'd be great, based on what little I know, but the three minutes thing, probably about right.

Disappointing that we don't respect men with balls any more :-(
