How's it lining up for everyone?

This is the first weekend in a long time I've been excited about! I've wanted to "play" for so long, ya'll don't even understand. Today (!!!) I am spending the day with my nephew who is in for a visit from FL. He is in the first grade. AND I have my grandson today. I've got fingerpainting and games and fun snacks lined up. We are going to have a ball and I'm so so so excited about this!

THEN, tomorrow, my two sister in laws are coming over and we are going to have Super Bowl party. I don't even give two flips about the Super Bowl. They do, and are sports fans but I'm just excited to have people to come over and hang out at my house and have fun!! Do you know how long it has been since I've just hung out with other people? Just to have fun? Long time..ya'll..long time.

YAY! I'm looking forward to fun!

Except I'm a big mouthed secret squirrel.

Mostly working (meh), but spending lots of time with our new dog.  He makes me so happy!!!  Hubby's working in a dog grooming shop these days, so we're planning to bring him in today while the shop's closed and give him a bath, blow-dry and lots of brushing.  He's not in bad shape, but the shelter doesn't have the staff to devote hours to a single dog.  He's already gorgeous but after this he's going to look like a movie star!

Glad to hear you've got stuff to look forward to.  I'd be all twitchy about having people in my space, but if you're happy, more power to you!

Korrellyn, I would be too if it were people I weren't comfortable around. But these two and I get along really well. They get my weirdness. And the kids..well..I mean..they love me and it's mutual. I'm in the mood to play :)

My Prince is getting his grooming on here in just minute too. He needs to be fresh and pretty for all the lively activity coming our way.

I am hunkering down, trying not to spend money, and so far have only been mildly successful (I slipped and bought something on etsy)

I just plan on doing chores and being with the kid. Not a bad weekend at all :)

Quiet weekends are nice :) Don't beat yourself up too bad for slipping. Everyone deserves a little treat.

ooooh...I'm off to get ready! What am I doing just sitting here!? I've got 3 hours before they get here!

I went to yoga this morning, read a bit of my new book, and now I'm doing some cooking. Tomorrow I will go to church and I guess watch the Superbowl because you know my dad will have it on.

Last night, we had a blast! My nephew, Logan, is a Virgo and such entertainment. And of course, my grandson the double Leo ran a show all his own. I was so busy, I didn't even have time to take pictures.

But, the good thing is, we went to Gattiland..which is kind of like a ChuckieCheese place or BillyBob's, a pizza buffet with a big game room for the kids. EVERYBODY went. All my kids came together that's the first time the Aquarian has participated in  a very long time. I felt hugely blessed..HUGE! We were all kids again. I had the younger two which showed me really quickly I'm not as young as I used to be. I'd get Logan all set up with a game and turn around and Brayden would take off. I'd find Brayden and turn around and Logan would be running to another game. LOL. It was a blast.

It was also good to see my oldest volunteering to change diapers..feed..carry..keep track of his son. He has a new air of responsibility around this child. He isn't as fearful about it. Has more confidence that he can care for him. And, is talking, contemplating seriously, about his future. So good to see.

The little Virgo Logan kept us all in line, "Everyone make sure your seatbets are fastened!". "Yeah? I don't understand 'yeah' I'd like to hear a 'Yes, please'"; "Brayden, your food is all over your face. If you eat more slowly and use your napkin..." Kid loves superheros. But he sees my key lanyard and says, "Wonderwoman. Really? My DAD like wonderwoman but I think she spins around too much. How can you do any good if you are all dizzy?" Friday was the first time I had met the kid. I'm in love.

I'm going to have to remember that moon in Cancer is in my 5th. I usually do not enjoy that time period but apparently spending time with kids having fun helps a lot.

I'm reading Dirty Secret by Jessie Scholl... it's memoir about her hoarding mother.

Now on to the Superbowl party! Chicken Quessadillas, potato skins, cheese/meat platter, chicken salad and croissants, brownies, cookies, little sausage things, cheese balls, apple dumplings, snack mix, chips and dip, veggie platters, Ox's famous homemade sausage dip...

we have a few carbs going on..my kitchen is overflowing with food and my sister-in-law is making some sort of drink with rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and some kind of red looking stuff.

My Aquarian says, "Mom, I can't believe YOU are having a party."

"What? I'm the Libra hostess supreme?!"

"I've never seen you do it before"

"HA! Because I always sent you to the babysitter!"
