I think business does what is best for the bottom line (which is as it should be). If it is good for the bottom line to be "green", they go green.
There are different models. Some biz treat employees very bad but other (southwest airlines is an example) treat them very good and both find success with their system.
Wouldn't it be interesting though to see that organizational members are adopting a more 'fair approach' as opposed to everyone being sharks and trying to get ahead?
I don't know, maybe I'm looking for something which isn't there.
I do believe there is a trend towards businesses looking for partnership opportunities to maintain stability and expand, and that this will be important in Saturn in Libra. Any way that any organization can help others, prop people up and be socially responsible seems like a more important factor than it used to be. I may be wrong, but that's my gut sense anyway.
After you get your questions down, you could either contact someone who does lots of business coaching to point you to good examples or use something like the Help A Reporter Out mailing list to get interview participants... If it were me, I'd start talking with the business coaches first to get a feel for the trends, and then use that info to refine the questions.
Good luck!
Wow, goddess! Excellent thought! Would you happen to have a particular business coach in mind?
I feel strongly against businesses. I know to employ someone and to provide a service are good acts but you only need to walk around your local supermarket to see all the tricks of the trade. On the subject of 'green' have you noticed how much packaging goes to waste? sometimes products are only half full, dates on food are extended at the consumers risk, over-pricing on all brands except their own which goes straight into their business coffers etc.
Using slave labour (still goes on in factories in the U.K), 'child' labour (school leavers who are paid the lowest rate), stocking ethical fairtrade products that only benefit the seller not the source (the reason farming is a dying trade), offering free bikes, computers and even trampolines to schools if you keep buying coupons (read the small print, you'd have to buy thousands) and using loyalty cards to check up on your shopping habits.
And thats just food, think how much gas and oil companies rip people off.

Hi everyone,
I would like to probe your brains a bit. I've been highly inspired by the Saturn in Libra theme characterized by reciprocity, equality and a general sense of looking out for each other. I would like to argue in my master thesis that this is a tendency that can be seen globally.
Now I'm doing my thesis in a business school, so obviously I would relate to organizations. I was wondering what you guys think of my idea that we are turning towards more conscientious actions in business? Could it be that due to the financial crisis the companies and the workers are standing closer together in order to form a shield themselves from the uncertainties.
Do you think I'm waaaaay off? Please tell me your thought and comments on this. It's greatly needed.
Also if you were to interview companies about this tendency - how would you present it as questions?
