I have three that nail it for a good portion of my life, not sure which one is going to fill the bill for this current stage of my life. In order
Nuts with Barbra Streisand
Looking for Mr. Goodbar with Diane Keaton
Thelma and Louise except I survived the cliff scene
Sometimes feeling like Demi Moore in GI Jane r/t finding inner personal strength
I also have a few that come to mind. 'Whalerider,' 'The War of the Roses,' and 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' without the English accent and lifestyle though. Just the Mean Reds or whatever she called it and the whole Moon River thing. Oh and maybe a little Erin Brockavitch, without the hot body and Merry Widows LOL -- to illustrate earlier periods in my life.
Nowadays, though, I'd have to say my life's a lot like 'Field of Dreams,' and I'm finishing up my run in the James Earl Jones role. More like JEJ at the end of the movie than at the beginning.
You would not believe how many typos I had to correct to write this -- Merc retch!
Pollyanna. Well I think I am very much like her character. Always trying to see the good things in life, even when it truely sucks. And she kind of like a orphan.
Hi Daisy! Yeah, those are oldies but goodies for sure! Remember in 'Roses' where she got that big 4-wheel drive vehicle? I did the same thing, years before I saw that movie, and when I heard her saying she wanted one instead of the Volvo her husband bought her, it made me gasp because I knew exactly 'why' she wanted one!
Aren't you glad we're old enough now to see why we did the things we did?
The little mermaid. NOT the Disney version, but the original story, where he chooses the other (human) girl over her and she chooses death over killing him. I saw this Eastern European rendition at age 6 and was completely heartbroken: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pTlkcfF__0&list=FLcimRB4_mFiY&index=254
Also: Nell.
I remember thinking: she's like me. Ofcourse nobody knows, cause i've got a tough ass cardinal chart, but that's Nell living inside that castle.
I've been told many times that Being John Malkovitch is actually about me.
I just say "Yeah, ok, if you want it to be."
I identified more with Human Nature.

Movies are a major part of my life. To keep things original there was a three movie quote limit at the dinner table when my kids were small.
Just now my son told me The Sixth Sense was on and he was going to go finish watching it. He said it was a little hard to watch because it reminded him so much of he and I when he was little (I was a single mom until he was 5). I hadn't really thought about it but I guess I feel that way about it too. and YES, he did see dead people. :( although nowhere near to the extent of the boy in the movie.
Are there any movies that mirror your life, or parts of your life in some way?
