What're You Doin' For Valentine's Day?
posted 1 year ago in Lounge
Yeah! Wha happened?! :D
I guess because that's what I'm doing, but I didn't want to advertise it! Hahahaha!
That devil's on my shit-list. One of these days that throne of his will be mine and things will change. :S
well its still a few weeks away and anything can happen in an instance, so i took the libra option, if still unattached, well i will eat choc and drink champagne and celebrate that i love valentines day lol if im attached by then, well im not telling ![]()
What day?? Oh.... just another day to me.
I'm still looking for the "Joining a Raid so we can destroy the Horde / Alliance!!" option. Hmmm.... must be misplaced.
Now if I actually had a sweetie....
.... we'd be someplace with sound-proof walls and sign hanging on the door: "Do not disturb: Raid in progress. Forbiden places being explored by hardy adventurers. Shhhh!!!"
Nothing special. Hopefully enjoying an empty place if my sis and her sweetie go out. Thought might engage in home-based mush, which in that case I'll find somewhere else to be or sequester myself in my room.
Gonna be with Hubby... Wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
I'm going to feel sad and left out and embarrassed to be single, again.
The last few years I had a conference to go to during VD, which was lovely because I was so distracted (and the crowd attending didn't give a rat's ass about it) I forgot it was VD. Alas, now it's back to being on a Monday. Crap.
I'll be in Court! ha! Glenn I hear Virgo is the undercover sex adventurer of the Zodiac... haha. What sort of dance do you do, Shannon?

What can I say? Either it's going to be hours playing World of Warcraft.... or something apropriete for Valentine's Day.
I could be mistaken (somebody can verify this).... isn't there 9-months from mid-February to mid-November?? Seems to me Valentine's Day (give or take) could be responsible for many Scorpios amoungst us!! **flex's arms**
They can shove it!
Ha ha SaD, I loved Pinky and the Brain ![]()
Haha, I always take Valentine's Day off from work, 'cause I don't want it rubbed in my face how LOVED everyone is by their SO's. Who knows how many of 'em are being cheated on. Okay-okay, that was uncalled for. They can find out on their own--hahaha!
I'm going to see the love of my life that day and stay in her all day long! Nyuknyuk!
The last time I observed Valentine's Day in any manner was when I used to buy roses for my Supervisor (my favorite living Leo photographer, before she'd met the man who is now her husband) and put 'em in an empty plastic Mountain Dew bottle on her desk--so she had in idea WHO had left them there. It saddened me to know how down and embarrassed she felt receiving nothing for Valentine's Day. Since she'd always been kind to me, it was the least I could do. :)
"Random thoughts for Valentine's Day, 2004. Today is a holiday invented by greeting card companies. To make people feel like crap."
~ Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I always watch this movie on that bloody day.
(...and they can take v-day and SHOVE it...)
I am pretty sure I will have stuff to do on that day, so staying home, hah. I usually end up wearing all black to work. Hell, even when I've had boyfriends I still couldn't get a date with 'em on the day. Venus Saturn day for me :P
One of the worst ones was when I worked at an afternoon newspaper (hint: deadline is by noon) and the boss's husband sent in a BARBERSHOP QUARTET to serenade. In the MORNING. On DEADLINE. WTH?
Hmm, Valentine's Day? Doesn't history paint a rather, er, gory picture of it's origins? Red would be fitting....heehee. I usually get bothered by at-least one male customer when I'm working that day, saying something along the lines of "Aww, you had to work on Valentine's Day? Wouldn't you rather someone take you out?" My response is usually short--and oh so sweetly spoken.
If I had a man, I'd be open to whatever he wanted to do if it made him happy. But if he left it up to me...I'd do something special, unique, well thought out, and heartfelt that would probably earn me one of his beautiful smiles. I dunno; a nice dinner cooked with love by me, candles, something pretty yet understated to wear, and of-course.....dessert. (purr). (whisper) We might need the next day off to re-charge. (mischevious/innocent grin)
Hopefully, every day would have some traces of the Valentine's Day spirit in it. But I wouldn't expect him to go all out, much less spend his hard earned money on me just because it's tradition. We'll make our own as we go along, and just be happy we found each other, and get to come home to our other half each night.
I am definitely a fluffy romantic/dreamer, I just like to feel it as I go along, not by what day it is. We can take that trip to Paris sometime in May or something. : )
I am Uranian as far as chart ruler so I used to not give a flying fuck, my favorite Valentine's Day was when I wanted to give a friend a weird Napoleon Dynamite doll because she was into the movie a few months prior so I said, "I want to give you something. When would you like me to give it to you?" And she said Valentine's Day. And then I found out before I got her anything that she wasn't into it anymore. So we exchanged gifts, I got her wind up sushi and a marshmallow hamburger and she got me a gummy lunch pack and a Tom Tierney coloring paper doll book of the pope and famous African American Women. :D
I was randomly walking around Brooklyn Heights on Valentine's Day last year and I went into the Brooklyn Historical Society, they were having a crafts market (one older woman put out jewelry made out of milk bottle caps her grandfather used to collect) and I found out there was a red velvet cake tasting there a few days before. I met and started hanging out with this fun woman in her late 30s. We were talking about stuff and men and I told her I was looking to see DUMBO. Well, I and her went touring around DUMBO and it came time for dusk, we had peach ice cream at the historic ice cream lighthouse and snagged free samples of hot chocolate at Jacques Torres. If you know DUMBO, it is ridiculously romantic at dusk. Then we were walking up a hill by Brooklyn Bridge and almost went sledding. We both laughed that it would have been a ridiculously good Valentine's Day if we both had boyfriends. But, I have Sun Jupiter Uranus, so you know, I'm friendly and I don't give a shit. Every day was Valentine's Day, but now Saturn is in Libra, and I want a boyfriend.
Going to go to school where all those teens who feel that they are "in love" give each other fake flowers and chocolates- which doesn't really resinate with me.
However I think I will enjoy pink flowers and hearts! Very pretty and bright day I guess... plus with happiness in the air! =D
@Mina- you can always take the words I type and mold and form it into something beautiful, Mina! couldn't have said it better myself! =) (I gotta admit, understanding is really great, I totally agree ;D I understand you, and I think you understand me, take that with you for valentines!)
@Liv--(blush at compliment) Thank you my spiritual sister, that was nice of you to say considering I pulled that line out of my heart rather quickly. And I will take your understanding with me on Valentine's Day. (whisper) Especially if some annoyingly eager young pup tries to get me to go out with him. Rrrrr, not bloody happening--even on Valentine's.
Someone honestly understanding me, and a guy is.....priceless, and rare. Finding it in a friend/mate/partner is (likely) beyond compare in my life. I hope the furball/ferocious beast likes him. She's actually a pushover at introductions once she realizes my friends have hands like I do, and are willing to pet her. Then they're like old friends, and she looks at me smugly from their lap like "we should have them over more often." I live with a Leo Rising (cat ruled), double Crab Cat, she's odd. : )
And even an artist as talented as I cannot make something beautiful from nothing, I need substance to work with, and I would say your writing is beautiful, I'm merely adding to it. : )
(my writing might be a little off tonight; I was watching a movie about American women poets, and half of it was in my former second language of French, so it tends to alter my English when I come back to it.)
SaDiablo--now THERE's a tradition that sounds pretty goddamn nice! Anti-Valentine's Day on the 13th Gory Movie fest. Hmmmmm. ;)
