What's the point of Neptune sq Neptune transit?
posted 5 months ago in Ask For Astrology-Based Advice
How familiar is Neptune in your chart? Are you used to being confused or confusing?
I'm not quite near this transit yet, but Neptune is just what you question--"I have to admit that I don't get it". I'm not sure you will, unfortunately. I think that Neptune will further make you question your motives, dreams, goals, *beliefs*. The challenge with any Neptune transit is being able to see clearly. You're questioning these pieces of yourself, which is a worthy process, but your decision making could be confused.
It could help to talk to someone who has been through it too. Anyone here perhaps?
Maybe that's it - I'm used to confusion so Neptune sq Neptune isn't registering haha. Neptune conj Merc.
I'm going through this right now -- I have Neptune conjunct Mars, so I'm used to having a dream and really being a bulldog about it, forward, forward, forward, and no one's taking that bone outta my mouth.
With the square, everything is up in the air. I don't know what the hell I'm doing anymore. It's disconcerting, but I'm trying not to be upset or angry about it -- dang Mars -- and just roll with it. Live in the moment and not in the dream. Though frankly, I'm going through so many heavy transits that this one is the least of my worries. :)
Another astrologer once told me that usually people get their Neptune square first, which causes them to "get religion" and their Pluto square later, wherein they use their Neptune square results to deal with that. I think with our generation, we went through the Pluto square first. Destruction first, religion later. :)
(interpret "religion" as you will. here I don't necessarily mean it literally....)
transcending your dreams and/or loss/obscuring of them? neptune always makes me think of loss. transcendence inevitably prods us to leave what's no longer conducive to our dream nature behind.
or, we forget what we were here to do.
"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man I put away childish things."
Corithians etc etc? (Sorry, can't remember, I went to church in my childhood;)
I feel that many of us are encouraged to dream as children, and prompted to adapt the belief that dreams are somehow too childish to carry as an adult...I think Neptune transits can evoke the Dream Nature if we are welcome to it.
yeah neva, major "roll with it" time lately. Like the past couple years haha. and loss makes sense too kashmiri.
my solar return is this afternoon - looked at the chart for it, pisces rising conj uranus. neptune in the 12th. Some of my friends have been bugging me to write a novel - maybe I should do nanowrimo this year.
"neptune always makes me think of loss. transcendence inevitably prods us to leave what's no longer conducive to our dream nature behind."
Beautiful, kash! Very Neptune/12. I'm going to have to think on this, but it seems... right. It could be the handle I've needed. Neptune trine Sun/Merc/Saturn natally, so I'm appropriately murky when thinking of Neptunian things.
i hope you have a great day tomorrow jilly:)
SaD I have Neptune in my 12th House natally..!
well, what ever your neptune does naturally it will bring that out more.Sometimes I think part of the gig with neptune transits is to get comfortable up in the air..I mean what will you do if you don't know or can't know, how do you live, what remains?
omie - that's very wish*. not being able to get a straight answer about a lot of things in the past year forced me to hand over a lot of stuff to the universe.
*wise
happy birthday , jilly
i've been ignoring this square.... and it hasn't perfected yet... been ignoring it (neptune = oblivion?) cuz saturn on my moon pluto, opposing uranus took all my attention...
For me, it's 3rd house (natal neptune) and 6th house (the transit)
Well, work is pretty confusing. Don't know what i'm supposed to be doing or what i will be doing
And your questions was : what's the point of the square?
i don't know.
From one squared neptune to another
((moonpluto))
I'm the only woman in my family that doesn't have moon/pluto in hard aspect. Boy can they sniff out any secrets/anything anyone's holding back haha.
Kash, I'd just seen it in an old comment, like, ten minutes before I read this, and I was all, "Whoah! Perfect!" Srsly. I are not stalkering you. *hides camera equipment* ![]()
happy birthday Jilly!
my neptune is at 24 scorp, near the ic. t-neptune is squaring it from the dc.
hells if I know. sorry. if I ever figure anything out I'll let you know.
I haven't had a chance to read this thread but just want to remark that there is no POINT with Neptune, never mind Neptune squared. :P
Also, happy birthday, Jilly!
hahah!! Neat and apt Elsa! Happy birthday Jilly, hope the birdies are all singing for you!
hahaha - for something without a point, it sure has been thorny sometimes .
thanks for the birthday wishes.
yeah, jilly -- i feel i can read people pretty well, understand motives, even if i can't always put it into words. I can see someone's face and know their trauma (or lack of it)
funny though i never think of the moon pluto conjunction as a "hard aspect" even though it is HARD
i always think :oh, the square is hard or oh the opposition is hard
haha
being alive is fucking hard
hope you got some good presents!![]()
Happy Birthday Jilly! And many more!
Another 12/H Neptune here, and I'm with Elsa - the fog's too thick to find a point.
And Neva, you're singing my song. Seems like I've been floundering around for a while now trying to find the new road I'm supposed to be on and still haven't a clue. I've got new shoes, I've got a new road somewhere but dang if I can see it let alone get on it! If someone were to ask for our pick for a Neptune song, I'd have to offer up Van Morrison's "Stranded."

I have to admit that I don't get it.
