I was wondering if the fear of heights,- small spaces, deep water, etc - have something to do with aspects in our chart.

Earth signs mostly have fear of height.
    __

I am not sure where my fear comes from ..im just guessing..
I have Saturn-Mercury sagittarius in 9th - square my Pisces Asc,  Mars and Jupiter.

I notice that my fear (deep water) is mostly related of the fact that i can't trust my body!

You know, like when you are cycling or skiing you just have to trust your body to do everything. I cant do that! i HAVE to 'control' everything with my mind.

Im trying to work through it and face my fear!  But i am telling you... its d'i'f'f'i'c'u'l't!

    What's your fear ?

to be buried alive. don't  know why, but ever since I was a kid I had that fear.

I have no planets in earth signs,  maybe there's a clue. and I have a mild case of claustrophobia. fear of small places, that could be 12 th house, where my Uranus is, which squares Saturn in 9th, Mercury and Venus in 3rd.

Definitely a fear of heights....mostly standing on a ledge of anything looking down...I remember the first time I went up to top of the World Trade Center, I could not go walk over to the edge...the railing...it freaked me out....but, I was practically raised on an airplane of some sort so I have no fear at all of flying...I love it, in fact. Or hiking up mountain peaks...no problem...

Honduras, where I was raised, means deep waters in Spanish and I have felt something akin to fear but not the panicky kind when crossing the sea to go to the islands....it is more of a deep respect and knowing how powerful those waters can be when churned up...as in hurricane, storms, or even high winds....the boats are only allowed across in the early morning or late evening because of the winds....that small area of water has one of the deepest abysses in the Atlantic.  christopher Columbus was the one who gave Honduras her name.  A little trivia for you...

Fair rides.....can't stand them...and very fearful of them....upside down stuff is not for me....refuse to get on them and when I have been coerced to do so has resulted in me just being more upset afterwards....

I am a Capricorn with Venus in Pisces, Mars in Cancer.....

Mine is and always has been losing people important to me. Some of them have been realized, some not (thank God).

I have a fear of deep ocean water.  I sometimes have dreams of a huge tsunami whisking me away - which is pretty frightening.  I love being at the beach, go up to my knees and then out I go.  I can swim fine - I prefer being in the pool.  Gemini, Leo rising, Moon in Sag - Neptune in Scorpio (4th house) is the only water in my chart.

-Slicing/Breaking my Achillies tendon (Back ankles)

-Being taken by Aliens (my partner has this one too, ha!)

    - Being stabbed in the Solar plexus Chakra.

-Not having any control of the health of my body.

-Staying stagnet, contained in one area for the rest of my life.( or being paralyzed)

-Being infertile or reproductive organ issues.(i guess that go's with no control of health)

-The thought of NOTHING after Death.

Im slightly afraid of walking on the street or riding a bike, because a car may come crashing into me. I was hit on my bicycle a few years ago. Almost got dragged underneath the car and very close to oncoming traffic.

Same with Goddess... My biggest fear is losing the people I love. I used to think I have this fear of "failure" but I often have this ability to spring back up and rise from the ashes. But then I realized that my drive to overachieve and my fear of "failure" is really based on my wanting to NOT let down my loved ones in some way.

I am just learning to realize they will be there - whether I fail or not.

Gosh, I hate to be a cliche, but I fear not having anything.  No home, no car, no clothes.  Being stuck on a highway I don't know with no where to go, no one to trust and nothing in my pocket...just the clothes on my back.  That's terrifying to me.  There simply is no lower level than that for me.

I'm afraid of deep water and large empty buildings. If you put me in an empty arena or skyscraper it would totally freak me out.

The one that pops out for me at particularly stressful times is: getting hit by a bus before I have sex again.  (It's not about the bus; that's just a handy reference for sudden death - and it's not about the death; it's about the end of sex.)

I fear the black deep ocean depths. I can even "frolick" and enjoy the beach without getting my feet wet!

Learning how to drive a car...(8th House Saturn square Mercury in Taurus).

My sister called me last week to tell me she had a dream I was driving us both, and I crashed and died. It rattled me...I was to have gone for my learner's last week and naturally, did not.

I am going to do it, though. If I don't my summer holiday plans won't happen (my bf is playing hardball)...

I hate heights too. Then the other day I was reading about existential angst on Wikipedia and came across this: "The archetypal example [of angst] is the experience one has when standing on a cliff where one not only fears falling off it, but also dreads the possibility of throwing oneself off" and realized, yeah, that's it.

Other big fears: very deep water and those drains at the bottoms of the deep ends of pools, big cities *bright lights!*, rollercoasters, people I love dying or my siblings being harmed, humiliating myself, hurting or disappointing other people in any way, getting a terrible infectious disease (when I was 13 I was convinced I had contracted plague from my science project), the zombie apocalypse (seriously), being buried alive and/or being trapped in a sinking car, the "authorities", my mom falling and breaking her ankle again, any kind of driving over 45 mph, bridges, Drew Peterson, ghosts and becoming deaf. Oh, and flying; I've never flown without tripping on Dramamine and Sutter Home.

    Kashmiri...

I had this dream the other day ! My boyfriend was driving and i was next to him! We were on the mountains and he left me the steer wheel! I was scared at the beginning but i managed it at the end! I gueess i had a fear about taking charge!

In real life i am considered a good driver :P  --- And believe me,if i can drive, then everyone can :)

mmarianna, not to worry! I've spoken of this fear on this blog before, it is real and HUGE and encouragement helps. My sister doesn't know about my fear (she just gets upset when she has dreams in which people die).

I don't have a fear of being in control, more like being out of control...I ride my bike everywhere and I see how reckless some drivers are...plus vehicles are SO BIG NOW! I feel like I'm being asked to drive a spaceship and it scares the shit out of me.Thanks for your thoughts:) I'm going to do it, I just won't be happy about it. I'm hoping it will change my life.

    Kashmiri:

I had that fear when I was growing up. When I used to live in Calgary, you can still get by with public transportation, however, I was always so annoyed that it gets so cold and I hated relying on my Mom to have to drop off my friends or to try and pick me up (she got really resentful after doing it)... When I moved to the states, I was REQUIRED to have a car. Being the oldest kid, I was forced into the responsibility of driving the younger kids to school. And on top of that, the public transport system was unreliable.

I have had a lot of dreams about car crashes and the like. Believe me, I've always been scared of driving and up to this day, whenever I would drive a car, I would STILL shake while getting on the wheel.

Anyway... I ended up driving for the sake of "survival" and for the sake of responsibility. Also, it was much more freeing having an extra means of transporation which did not rely on others. I've been through about three car accidents, none of which harmed me or the other person involved, so I am blessed that my fears have never happened. I am at least glad to have that basic skill of even driving a car...

... that doesn't mean I like it though ;) I am still most comfortable on my Trek :)

    My personal fear?

Having noone and nothing to love and vice versa. Being an emotionless shell.

Death is pretty natural for me, especially having lost a lot of my relatives. I accept it as life's natural occurence, aslong as it results from natural means. My biggest regret in my short lived life is having avoided my aunt when we needed eachother most.

What's most funny is that I've been called being void of emotion by others. Typical scorpio :)

My biggest fear is flying off the side of the on ramp to 635-E from southbound I-35 heading into dallas.  It banks hard to the left. It is worse than a freakin Hotwheels ramp. One time I was going over it and half the siderail was hanging off where someone had hit it.  ahhhhhh.  Later I had a dream that my mom and I were on it and we just rolled off the side.  Now I get shaky and nervous every time I go over it. It just feels like it was built by convincts out of packing peanuts or something.

Hi Notatirem, that's exactly the same fear I have when I'm on the road.  Like skidding off the road on to a cliff....yayyy.  When I got my accord with vehicle stability assist, that fear was gone completely because I can maneuver the car on tight bends and critical situations.  Almost slammed into a stationary bus at 140kph but the accord's abs worked beautifully not even a hairstrand out of place (Leo!), and no skid marks! It was only later that I realized that I could have died if the abs and the vsa didn't work.

What I did afterwards was beyond reason and plain stupidity - I chased the sports car who drove me to the bus lane.  This was the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway where you can clock up to 200kph..or more.  I did 180kph and chased that a**hole.  It was like a scene straight out of a police chase but we were careful and there are six lanes and there were no police.

He's got the shock of his life when he saw it's a woman chasing him! :-) In retrospect, I do really have the skill to chase.  I'll have to consult Elsa where in my chart is this indicated.  I have managed a bad performing credit department and recovered millions in bad debts.

Bottomline is if the vehicle or the platform where we are operating from would be reliable (Capricorn) enough, our fears would be baseless and in keeping with one of Elsa's post...RUN WITH YOUR FEAR...not away from it.

the second - my  daughter drowning in a pond or creek, why this is I don't know... she's only 6 mos. old hasn't even crawled yet and we have no ponds in our neighborhood.
