Who was your dream partner when you were very young?
posted 7 months ago in Relationships
He was very nebulous. I remember being in the old hidden garden, on the old non-functioning farm, in a small country town, patting mud pies. I think I was cooking for some vague "him." Sun in Cancer in the 12th much???
There was never a type though. And there never has been a consistent type. Maybe all that vague dreaming has made for a vague love life.
Though it's always the mind that gets me first. (Aqua 7th?) My sister laughs at me. She generally goes for the handsome hardbodies. LOL. Me? Give me a great brain. And I have found quite a few of those. But in the end, I really think I'm a loner. (Venus in Virgo?)
I like very neat, clean organised boys. I'm quite messy and silly. I attract them, but I'm still looking for that extra punch of funny, thats the only thing that has changed. Plus roots orientated people, before I wanted to live in the circus. But not any more
My crush as a young girl was on Zorro. I loved his character, now that I'm older, I can see that it was certain traits and I've learning to see it in my chart. It was that he was so humble in his heart (cappy moon swoon), defending families & the innocent (cancer sun swoon), also defending the hopes & wishes of others (venus in my 11th) in a flashy way (venus in gemini). Maybe I've got that all wrong, but I always wanted to be worthy of the love of someone so strong yet humble,
Angie
ETA to add, I've got a 12th house sun, so of course he wasn't real.
Oh yeah, I was in love with Peter Rabbit. Go figure.
As a young child I never had a dream or a fantasy of who I would want to marry or be with, just what job I wanted. ( Virgo)
At 14 I knew who I wanted to be with, she was tall, dark, slender, bult like a brick ......house.
So I waited and planned for the day..............Finally with a few well placed smiles w/dimples I won her............and Annalisa and I have been together ever since.
I guess I'm the only one that picked non human. LOL.. Back to the drawing bored.
I prefered books when I was a child and I lived in the dream world of wonder! Characters in a book where much better, than the ones on the telly.
Phew I'm not alone. Hmmm... I wonder if this is a Pisces thing? LOL

Probably someone who looked this douchey LOL This is Bob Dylan, of course. I think he was pretty sweet back in the day :) I thought I wanted a hippie, some wanderer who wrote poems and smoked cigarettes sometimes and felt the depth of the universe when he woke up in the morning.
I met that guy, and I was so enthralled with him after he passionately read some poems from a gilded journal at a poetry slam at my college and then he disappeared into the night -- that the next time I saw him, I just yelled out - hey! I just wanna know what you think. I wanna know what you think about. He said "sure" and took me to his car (which was a filthy disaster), found that gilded journal, then led me to his secret smoking spot. He sat on a rock in the woods, smoking Camels, and read me his journal. I was beside myself.
But then I realized he was really dark and had a lot of demons and that he and I were sort of both mentally ill LOL And I realized he would never have a regular job and I'd live in a hostel somewhere on the road and that yeah -- that would kind of suck :P I like being warm and dry. I thanked him, and moved on.
Irony? My husband was living with him at that time, and I hadn't met my husband yet :) My husband is a hippie sympathizer :) He is not a hippie at all, but he loves eccentric women and really enjoyed that guy's friendship. Irony too is that hippie guy introduced my husband to Bob Dylan, who then introduced him to me :) So it was all meant to be...
Ummm.... it changed way too often 'cause it was every woman in every monthly magazine of Playboy. ![]()
I'll blame my stellium in 2nd 3rd houses.... add the Pisces Moon , too.
EDIT:
I did have a crush on Melessa Gilbert (Little House on the Prairie) , Jodie Foster , and the girls on "The New Micky Mouse Club" (late 70's).
I liked, key word is like 'ed' bad boys in my teens. Once I was 18 I just couldn't afford to be into them anymore!
I always wanted someone to come to my window in the middle of the night. I still do. But now there's a real risk that I would violently attack them. By someone, I mean whoever I was currently daydreaming my time away about.
Crush wise in middle school I loved the libra vibe: Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Yep. You're seein' it.
High School: Gavin Rossdale. My ceiling was covered in his pictures.
Tom Cruise forever and always ...but Tom Cruise about 6" taller and NOT crazy...also, not a scientologist.
Honestly? I never had a "dream" person that young. :)
There were people I wanted to bag, tag, and release from the time I was around 7. But relationship, marriage, kids? Hell NO! I'd be running in the other direction so fast I'd never have heard the end of the question. :P I wasn't interested in relationships until after I graduated high school.
I can agree with SaD on this one. (I thought I was going to be the only one ; ))
When I was a young girl, I had no feelings towards romance, or playing house, or the rest. I saw most men as different than me, but nothing more than brief specimens to study, and analyze. I don't think I've ever fantasized about being anyone's girlfriend, or wife. Mother? eek! where's the exit?
Maybe I thought what it could be like being Sherlock Holmes' girlfriend briefly, but he was kind of a know it all in a lot of his books imo. I dunno, it just isn't in my mind, and hasn't been since I can remember. I used to wish I was the departed one's girl, and I got my wish, so I guess that works for me. I think this is one area where I feel different from most women, and at my age now, I've learned that that's okay.
Hmm, you'd think a 12th house Venus trine Neptune would have had her dream men but.....I think it's a matter of realizing I was a late bloomer, and had little interest in dating until I was about 22/23 yrs old I think. And once I bloomed, I was more concerned with looking for flesh and blood, rather than concerning myself with someone I'd probably never meet irl, nor even like possibly. I'm blaming Saturn and Pluto opposite my Venus on this one. I fantasize about real men I've met, it's quite nice. ; )
I don't think much has changed, I think my dream parter has always been something of a "Renaissance Man." Then, as now, I want the man that can cook me a meal, play me a song, dazzle me with his mind and, most importantly, make me laugh to the point of exhaustion. I don't remember having big celebrity crushes super young, but when I did have them it was always odd balls like Letterman or Steve Martin.
Edited to add: My mom says I had a crush on Andy Gibb when I was like 2, lol.
I loved older men (saturn conjunct my libra asc). Well dressed, well mannered (well, I'm a libra ))), with deep voice and intence glance, strong, decisive. Real men, not boys of my age, even when I was 6 or 7, my feelings were platonic in such a tender age of mine, of course. I must confess, nothing has changed. I still love this type.
I'm lovin' this because I've been giving lots of thought to just this subject, of late. My first dream man would be Sean Connery. Come to find out... He's a Virgo with a Libra venus. I happen to be a Libra sun with a Virgo venus. The exact square between my venus and his mars would be tough though. But later in my youth..Josi :-) ... the BeeGees became popular. I loved their sound, and there was something about Barry Gibb that I literally adored. Come to find out he's a Virgo with Mars and Venus in Libra. His Venus is exactly conjunct my Libra sun. But of course that means his Venus would also be exactly square my Saturn in Cancer. Knowing what I have learned through life, I hope I can find another guy born Sept 1, 1946...Barry Gibb's birthday. A woman can dream....
I was in love with Michael Landon, but only in the part of Charles Ingalls. A responsible, loving, fatherly type... so Capricorn.
A little girl in the neighborhood and I used to play this deserted island game in my back yard. We had been in a plane crash or three hour tour or something and all we had were us and our husbands and had to make do with resources from the island. Our husbands never really were around, they were busy trying to get us off the island, so we would pretend to write them notes saying, "please bring back coconut milk and deer meat on your next adventure" and then we would lay around and pretend to tan or make clothes out of leaves. I'd say this is my Venus in Sag (go hunt me some stuff) and my Mars in Libra (laying around doing nothing) but I saw The Blue Lagoon on cable at a young age and my mom and I watched Gilligan's Island reruns together every weekday.
Ooooh.... I remember Gilligan's Island!!
I never could quite figure out how Ginger kept her wardrobe in good condition. Those are another two I had a crush on.... Ginger & Mary Ann (just couldn't decide which one was more cute).
*Sighs* TV's hot women: Linda Carter , Barbara Eden , all three Carlie's Angels , #99 on "Get Smart".... and all those I can't recall their name at the moment.
:::Fades into memories of Good 'ol Days:::
@Glenn- remember her champagne colored sequined dress? I always wondered if she dropped sequins all over the sand and if a plane was flying over and the sun hit the sand just right if it would glow and they would be like, "hey there's a lady with a sparkly dress that needs rescued down there!"

I used to get crushes on tall men with dark hair when I was a young girl. I liked the "prince" story and fell for the whole story! I was very dreamy as a young girl when it came to love. I did marry someone who is tall and who has dark hair and who is romantic so I guess I followed my dream in this case.
What was your dream partner when you were very young? Can you describe them? Did you find this person?
