Will it take a matriarchal society to survive what's coming?
posted 3 months ago in General
We have war because of men. We have greed and avarice mostly because of men. We have glass ceilings definitely because of men. It seems as though most of the problems we live with are caused by men. With women in charge, it would be a whole different thing. How do we get there? What needs to happen? I'm all in favor of it...
I kind of think we have all of those things because of primal fear, not because of men. But that's just me.
The first question should be asked is ....
What do you think is coming?
Before we answer the other questions.
It's very possible women could be more human than man, yet to get them to rule the world? perhaps men should ask them and give them their place? I also think we need intelligence, great intelligence, a college of all the best genius of our time in all category to help better this world and a kind of a mondial govnmt, with all the countries like yet but something more at the top of all, to stop stupid wars, stop the heating, stop the traders ect...
I have known (and know) a whole lot of ruthless, greedy, self-centered, just all around miserable women.
I think we all have to change collectively - not really a female/male thing (in my opinion, of course).
Ok, I guess. I thought I'd get some pro-female responses here, maybe a little controversy, maybe some solutions but all I've gotten so far are some middle of the road pablum kinds of responses. User said that it is primal fear that is the cause of the mess we're in. I can go along with that. Fear is humanities sole preserve and has been with us since, well, primal times. Matriarchal or Patriarchal. But this world is controlled by men and money but if no one has a problem with that....
What do I think is coming? Big shit, guys. Transformation, whether into spirit or back to the tribes of Israel, I'm not sure. Although "crazy people" have been calling for the end of the world for millenia, our global society has the means and wherewithal to get it.
A slow transformation to a new enlightened society? Not unless Jesus taps us on the back and says hi individually. Don't you feel like there is some kind of explosion imminent? Some dark times ahead, of the mind or the world itself....
I agree with Toni....what do you think is coming? Not altogether clear about the men/women thing either. Depends on the man...depends on the woman. There are definitely some women who have put themselves out there in the political arena, for example, who would scare me one whole hell of a lot. It also depends on perspective. One man's (woman's) meat is another person's poison.....Interesting topic tho'
Lynn, I think he already answered that. At least I think he did and it sounds gloomy for the future. Shivers:.
Oops...I think I missed it while I was doing my scribe. Thanks Toni, I will back up and read it now.
' thought I'd get some pro-female responses here, maybe a little controversy, maybe some solutions but all I've gotten so far are some middle of the road pablum kinds of responses'
That sounds a little snarky to me - and condescending.
As a woman I know I don't want to be in charge. Just want respect and the understanding that society should support the feminine rather than crush it or ignore it. Cancer is the odd one out of the coming t-square and imo, which i'm not sure others agree with, will be the energy that helps support the future. Getting back to family and the essence of why we do all of this in the first place.
Larry, women are as screwed up as men are.
I believe that life on Earth will be cyclical just like everything else. If there were to be a death of the planet and repeat of the Big Bang millions of years from now forming a new world, it would all happen the SAME way.
LMAO...I have to side with Bananas on this one. I wouldn't assume a matriarchal society would be better than what we've got. It could shift things. But we'd either have different issues or same issues in different clothing, not necessarily lack of issues.
War? Sometimes it's appropriate IMO. I'm not a pacifist. Greed? That crosses gender lines. Maybe the glass ceiling would be for men instead of women and we'd have a "good ol' gals" network instead. Y'kno?
You do realize that women would have to become bigger, stronger, and more logic-minded than men for this to ever happen. And men would have to birth and raise the babies.
Which would make them... women.
One way to be pro-female, Larry, would be to let women give you their answers without telling them their opinions are pablum.
You know what's bigger, stronger and more logic minded than men? Computers.
Computers will destroy the planet.
Yeah Bananas.......remember HAL from 2001 Space Odyssey?
"I'm sorry Dave, I can't let you do that".......lol
At some point, one would think that logical people would realize that it is illogical to rely on logic alone... I wonder when we'll get to that point.... ever?
Wow. Snarky and condescending? I'm sorry, guys, but the responses on the board before I wrote that were kind of mild. (I'm not attacking you, user) I was not trying to be snarky nor was I trying to be condescending. If you haven't noticed here, I'm on your side. IMHO, men have fucked it up, stomped on it and kicked it into the gutter. And I'm a man, right? If you don't think gender matters...
I wrote this - or asked this - because the world needs more of the feminine. More gentleness. Most men don't recognize their androgeny and think the mere mention of it is gay. And what I find amazing is that you all dispute me on this! And, as to where the world is going, some of us maybe should take off the blinders. I apologize if this upsets some of you (have another, Lynn :) But, unless the spiritual comes in here down the stretch, we're in trouble.
And, hey, about the personal attacks, Dorothy, I'm not trying to start a shooting war here, just trying to have a discussion.
Well Larry if you are going to tell people that the responses they gave are "pablum" - (baby cereal, bland, etc.) that comes off as being condescending.
To assume that because we are women we are all going to agree that women should rule the world, is putting us all in a box.
And I will give my opinion as it is, always.
I think men and women are capable of equal levels of grace and gentleness and of committing equal extremes of atrocities. I don't believe men and women are identical but I do believe we are similar in our capacity for good and evil.
I know personally I am suspicious of anyone who seems to revere me as a madonna because they are the same ones who will want to tie me to a stake and light a bonfire around my feet when they discover I also embody the darker side of feminine energy. The madonna/whore split is a dangerous one if people try to cast you too far on either side.
What the world needs are more enlightened PEOPLE who bring out the positive qualities of their gender and personality.
Sadly, there isn't many out there. Too many are worried about their own stupid and selfish wants (NOT needs) and desires. Too many have major personality flaws that prevent them from caring about anything except what's in their own little worlds. This planet needs a lot less o' that.
"I'm on your side."
Whose side? Women are not a monolithic mass. Sarah Palin, Mother Teresa, and the lady who sold her child as a sex slave are all women. In order to really be on someone's side, that person needs to be seen and heard. For what they have to say, for who they are, not for how well they fit into a preconceived mold.
I find that, often times, people like the abstraction a lot more than the reality.
I'm not trying to pick a fight, I'm just discussing...
Well, since the yang dominance clearly did not work out, why would a ying-ruled world be any better?
The old astrology books, don't they talk a bit about how when the ying and yang occur in equal measures, we'll finally have peace in the world?
And, that is an impossibility, at least i think. But it's a state to strive for at any rate.
Libra, yes, i'm a libra.
Lupa: I totally agree with you that men and women have the capability for good and evil but it is evident that most of the evil perpetrated on the world is done so by men. And, yes, if women were in power, maybe it would be the other way around. I do not look at women as madonnas or whores. I look at women individually.
Dorothy: So I guess it's all right for you to be snarky and assuming but I can't give my opinion that something was pablum? Let's do a little thinking about double standards. And, really, I don't care to argue about non-essentials. I don't care to argue at all, it's counterproductive. Can we keep our responses on point? I'm interested to know what everyone thinks is needed to face the crisis we're in. I thought more feminine energy. Am I wrong?
"As a woman I know I don't want to be in charge.."
As a woman, I know I am in charge."
I'm switching my answer!
As a woman I have that prerogative ;)
I don't think the answer is to swing the pendulum to the opposite extreme. This 7th house Gemini sun is in favor of balanced power between the sexes.
And Elsa's point is important. Just because men have been figure heads does not mean women have been without power. I am not discounting or ignoring the fact that women are oppressed in various ways around the world but power doesn't look the same to everyone. I am quite powerful in my world.
I did not say that anyone else's opinion was "middle of the road pablum" - That was you. And that was insulting.
I am done going back and forth on this, because it is futile.
And no, I don't think more "feminine energy" is the answer. I think we all have to work together.
"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world."
Well, if women ARE in charge, they didn't do a very good job. Heh.
..in general the pablum opinion is a judgement of the answers rather than a discussion on a discussion board. It seemed meant to provoke.. more discussion?.. maybe but if you wanted more substance than what was offered then you could have asked for such rather than judging what people did offer.
