Woman fights man she met online for baby
posted 3 months ago in Dating
*Sigh* Another reason why I'm not on those dating sites anymore. Just incredibly ridiculous how easy it is to "hide" your "true" identity these days.
What I'm wondering about is this: why wasn't the wife pissed?? Perhaps it was one of many things that confirmed the "fraud" aspect of this case.
Personally, as a single mom, I would never date someone who I didn't have people in common with. Just for safety reasons I would never date online because I don't know what kind of freaks might be after me for my daughter. I just don't see it being a very reliable option. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I had enough experience with creeps in real life to not even bother with the internet.
I've been on the net a long time and met a lot of decently trustworthy and very cool people.
I would add though, that none of them ever told me they came from a famous family of billionaires or that they worked for the CIA(!). I'm floored that she bought that.
ETA: I realize that that must sound harsh, and I am not denying the whole thing was scummy, but that ought to have set off alarm bells. A member of the DuPont family who works for the CIA is hanging out on a "popular dating site"??? Really???
I'm with you egi! I'm also a single Mom of a daughter. The guy I'm dating I met through his Mom. I've been friends with her for a couple of years now. Internet dating sounds so terrifying!
This is a horrible situation, but it would seem the woman was not using her head much. I saw all sorts of red flags in that article. Hello! He still has pictures of him and his wife together all over his home? I don't know of many divorcee's of either gender that are likely to do that!
My heart breaks for that woman. Papers Shmapers, the woman was trusting.
And it also breaks due to the fact that a human being could be so manipulative and cruel and conniving. He doesn't deserve to be called human.
How dare he? How fucking dare he?
Call me Aries, but someone would totally be getting fucked up right now.
Yes the guy is a total asshole! He was married the whole time WTF! And she didn't know??? Man I am way too suspicious I would have already done a check on him prior to the second date, lol. Oh and anything that has to do with custody, pssssh please I don't need to sign anything!!,
Wow. Just wow. I'm losing it these days on the sorry-assed humanity (the whole of it) we have become.
Fucking evolution. Yep. Sure. Sing me a song about human evolution.

Pass me some hard-core Neptune tonight, 'cause, holy shit... (Or find me a song on YouTube that will temporarily make me rise up for humanity rather than hope for a freaking apocalypse.)
I hope I was clear that I was talking about the story. Not the comments on the story. This broke my heart. I imagined a couple strategizing this... pulling in this woman (with her own blinders and flaws) to have a baby, to have their own baby.
Serious ouch about what we have come to.
I did not even imagine this man doing this on his own. I imagined two people in cahoots. One or the other controlling... I put this in the category of couple serial killers... When two people who get together of a certain type (whatever type) but they match in some way...
The range of that duo-deed far outweighs an individual capability. For good or ill. Or anything in between. But mostly extreme.
