I've been told my birth was very easy. 3 hours from start to finish, no drugs for mum, and apparently I came out happy. I wonder about this in relationship to my Rising Sign.
I have Sagittarius ASC (Jupiter ruled).

(1)Do you know your birth story, and (2) do you think your entrance into the world correlates to your ASC, considering it's thought to be your 'approach' to the world?

My mom told me my birth was extremely normal. Pisces Rising!

My approach to the world would be too dreamy and vivid if it wasn't for my Mars in Aries!

Yes I have mars in sadge on my asc and I am a libra but was supposed to be a pisces. It was a big effing emergency/surprise (mars/asc sq uranus and pluto) & ultimately miracle (mars/asc trine jupiter and nodes) that I survived.

I was in the hospital/incubator for my first 4 months & raised by a bunch of nurses (moon in 6th house). My mom used to take me to visit them on my birthday.

My mom said the birth was fast & easy - more like pooping than having a baby. (She has a grand trine with Sadge Merc, Aries Uranus, and Leo Jupiter haha.) I weighed exactly 1kg & was baby #4.

It's made me feel like I'm here for a reason/feeling of destiny but I also wonder if being in a box for all that time messed me up a little bit (saturn sq asc and chiron sq asc).

When T. Pluto on my mars/asc  I found out the reason I was born so early.

My mum wanted to spend the Christmas home so she went earlier to the hospital ( 20 December)

When she got there ,the doctor said that i was ready to come! She cant remember a lot but it was easy :)  (Pisces Ascedant)

My mother was given drugs that she didn't ask for and had a trip!  The room went blue and she watched me being born from the ceiling!  I have a first house neptune and a 12th house mercury uranus conjunction.  Am scorpio rising so maybe it's fitting she was pissed off!

Gemini rising. I messed up my aunt's baby shower for my mom (Aquarius) because I was early. My dad was so freaked out (Virgo) that he spun a rut through my grandmother's yard going to the hospital. I wasn't born until the next morning, but I was the first baby my doctor delivered and he said that he would never forget it. Not sure if that is good or bad!

Hi guys my name is Dionysus and my birth was said to be highly charged with emotion from my mother. My grandmother told me that my mother was acting very erratically and almost like upset and scared and crazy!

I have a Cancer Ascendant so my Chart Ruler is the Moon(which I have in Pisces) Tak about emotional!:P

rising. Apparently my mother was drugged to the nines.

    She had pre-eclampsia

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-eclampsia

and so the doctor induced labour before she went into seizures etc. I was premature by a few weeks and determined to not come out I guess. Forceps were used. All sounds barbaric as hell to me.

Wow Scorpio rising. I think that is a pretty interesting one in many many ways.

Pisces rising. Nothing much in 1st house except Pallas.

Born a day early, nearly two. One of the few times in my life I have ever been early for anything. But I think that was just my attempt to avoid having an Aquarius moon. Came out head first, but facing the wrong way :-)  (wasn't a fun experience for my mum :-( )

28 degrees leo and I was born jaundiced. I can't think of anything more leo-like than to come out bright yellow, haha.

Mars in Cancer exactly rising - premature emergency C-section (my mom's water broke, probably because of an overly exuberant internal exam that morning).

I think most modern medical OB delivery procedures are barbaric, but that's a different story.

Gemini rising, according to my mom, my birth was fairly routine for a first, not easy but not difficult either.  However it did start snowing while she was in labor and it turned into a really bad blizzard (the blizzard of 78) and my dad was stuck in the hospital for a couple of days. Also as soon as I was born the doctors realized my head wasn't shaped right, it turned out some of my soft spots closed while still in the womb. I was operated on at 3 weeks old to open them.

     another...

my baby is a virgo rising, and I was in labor close to 48 hours, apparently she changed her mind about wanting to be born. She was head down but facing the wrong way (painful to say the least) and I never did fully dialate. So she was finally born via c-section in which they had to completely put me under for since my body fought off the epidural and they gave me more than they usually use.

I am first born. According to my mom, I was a chubby, healthy baby. Absolutely adorable. And the general mood during my birth was that of excitement - because I was the first and this was everyone's first time having a baby in the house.

Aries Ascendant... Go figure, eh? :)

    Sanguine

I was born by C-section after my mother spent many drug-free hours of unsuccessful labor on trying to get me out.  I was late, past the due date, and apparently my "football shoulders" (as my mother calls them) prevented my passage.  Thus, the knife.

    Taurus rising.

This is a very interesting take on the rising:D

I think I love this thread also! It might also show your attitudes as a baby after entering also.

My Dad has stated that I cried so much that my mother felt she was a bad mother.

My mother has stated that I would literally cry if they turned the lights off and vice versa!

    I have a Cancer ascendant(Moon ruled)

I believe my brother has a Scorpio Ascendant along with a Pluto Rising and my mom stated that he didn't cry upon being born and it worried the doctors.

He has been very quiet for most of his life too:P

ascendant my mom had an extremely difficult birth with me and we both needed to stay in the hospital for a while afterwards. Likewise my son is also  ascendant and it was the same with him.

I was two weeks overdue. Mom took a mile walk to the Dairy Queen in the dead of July -- two days from today -- got an ice cream cone, ate it, walked back, whereupon her water immediately broke. She went to the bathroom to tell my dad, who leaped out of the shower shaking and still covered with soap.  (I was their first.)

She was given drugs that knocked her out. Doesn't remember a thing. She says that she woke up and she was presented with this little stranger. (Actually, that explains a lot. )

I am told that I was an unfussy baby. Virgo ascendant, Pluto rising, mess of other stuff in the 1st house.

Off to Alaska, all you shiny chickens, to celebrate that now-40 year old story! Catch you on the flip side.

Libra rising.  The doctor  went home for dinner at 6:00pm.  I arrived 6:34 delivered by nervous intern - first time for him.  He told my mother he thought there was another one (twins) and she told him to leave it in there.

    Ha Ha Lindsey.

I was an out of wedlock child which was a fate worse than death back then where my Mom was from. She was/is also bi-polar and was getting shock treatments before she knew she was pregnant with me. Anyway, she was in labor with me for almost two days and my birth was traumatic. I was supposed to be put up for adoption but my grandfather found out and put an end to that and my grandparents ultimately adopted me. The Dr. who brought me into the world was later charged for sexually assaulting many of his patients.

    Yep. Scorpio rising.

    sadge fella aka g

It was a "long, painful and loud" birth. No drugs, nothing to ease the pain.

When I did show up (12 hours later), the doctor allegedly told my mom: "All that noise for such a tiny baby!" I was supposed to be a big baby, a gift on Xmas day, but I wanted out NOW! (Two weeks early).

So they left me in this big room with the other babies at night. My mom says we could hear my screams all the way down the hall. Cancer rising...

    PS: I love this thread.

I was ten days late; my dad had taken leave to be around when I was born, but his leave ran out and he was back on the ship for mere hours before Mom's water broke.  36 hours of labor in a military hospital.  Rather than take me C-section, the doctors and nurses gathered around and pushed on her belly to force me through the birth canal.  By the time I was finally out, she said my head was shaped like a cone.  She also said if I'd been her first I would have been her last.

Virgo rising - conj Pluto and Uranus.

My son couldn't wait the last six weeks of his time in utero - he was born after ten days of bed rest in the hospital.  Once he was ready to come, nothing could stop him.  Including two doses of Seconal I was given to make me "calm down" so labor would stop.  And he came out face first, looking like Raging Bull for the first year of his life from the bruising around his eyes.

Capricorn rising - conj Sun, Uranus and Neptune.  Oy.

Daughter was also born after 10 days bed rest in the hospital, but with her my water broke at 29 weeks.  They didn't drug the hell out of me with her, so when labor started, they called the doctor and scheduled the C-Section for 5:00 am.  Tiny little thing who fought like hell to live after infections got her in the NICU.  She's perfect now, no bad afteraffects from it at all.

Aquarius rising - conj Venus, Uranus and Neptune.

    We are an interesting family...

so the virgos asc seem to have a common theme of taking their time to come out and c-sections (at least considered). My baby girl has never been real fussy either. But since she has Scorpio sun, when she wants something she really lets you know!

I love hearing these stories. Jilly my sister was incubated for 1 month upon her birth and has wondered the same.

Some of these stories...yowza... giving birth is intense but being born is insanity! And to think we all did it;)

My birth was induced because the Doctor wanted to go home for dinner .  I was supposed to be a leap year baby, but was forced out early.  Guess I was just a typical Cancer rising, wanting to hold on to "mommy" as long as I could.

I've asked my mother a few times and every time I got a different answer! So who knows how I ~really~ came into this world!

    Aquarius Rising

One thing I do know is I was born in the middle of a move. My mother left one house to go to the hospital and have me, then went home to a different house when she came out. What that has to do with Aquarius I dunno. Anybody see a connection?

(One of the versions is that I came out screaming and kicking, so to speak, a true rebel - Aquarius - and tore her to shreds in the process. )

I'm also told I would NOT let my mother rock me. This pained her greatly. Independent Aquarius? "I wanna move at MY OWN rhythm"?

I've asked my mother a few times and every time I got a different answer!  Me too sort of.  I was a C section.  My mom had to wait months in fertility, lying down.  They were worried I wouldn't come out, there was the danger of a miscarriage.  My mom was very thoughtful and introverted then, she read Montaigne and other essayists.  She said she was happy, but lately she mentioned that she frequently felt alone.  I came out and they had to take me away for a while or I was brought to her and looked in her eyes.  I don't know my birth time for sure, but it was either 12:00 or 12:30.  I could be a Pisces or Aquarius Rising.  One woman told me that she expected me to be a Pisces Rising, but I think she was picking up on the Cancer stellium.  I am sure that I am an Aquarius Rising.  I do come off friendly and weird and place a high emphasis on independence.  I don't get mistaken for anything and Pisceans creep me out because of their psychic energy and how hard it is to pin them down.  I also look like Aquarian, I have red hair and big open, blue Uranian eyes.  I've seen Piscean eyes; they are very ethereal.

I'm still not sure, though.  To be a Pisces Rising you appear Piscean or Neptunian, right?  I think my birth sounded like an Aquarian birth, too.

I'm a gemini sun with a gemini rising, and while the pregnancy was terribly difficult for my mom, the birth?  HELLO WORLD HERE I AM LET ME OUT!!

    *chuckle*

3 hours from first labor pang to birth.  My mom was drugged but honestly I think it was done out of routine.  I'm still not sure how they had time to get that done.

Another rising who took only 4 hours to get here.  They used metal () tongs to pull me out.

My son has rising.  His birth took only 4 1/2 hours.  His ASC is closely trine his conjunction.

My older daughter's birth was a nightmare.  She didn't want to come out!  I was induced, and I was up for 36 hours straight.  I was peeing (sorry if TMI) all that induction fluid out, and I was in the bathroom every 10-15 minutes.  She has rising, square (which likely explains why she got so cozy in there), trine and trine .

The little one's birth was comfortable, but it wasn't easy getting there.  She turned breech when I was 8 months pg, and I had a version to turn her around.  Plus, my water broke at home and gushed all over, which was the only time it broke at home.  She has rising, trine and widely opposite (which is in the 7th house, a placement she inherited from Mama.  ).

Scorpio rising, and Neptune (in Sag) in the first house. About four hours labor, I think, but what my Dad always recounts is that when I was born I didn't cry at all, and just sort of looked around curiously like I was interestedly observing everything. Sounds like I was me from the beginning, then...;-)
